Overall, this was a great cruise on a beautiful ship. Even though there were 9000 people on board, it never really felt that way except for early dining at times. The entertainment was fantastic.
I will probably cruise one more time on this class of ship before I make my final opinion on sailing mega ships.
Embarkation

Embarkation was smooth and easy. There was very little waiting and getting on board Went smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The ship’s dining rooms were were nicely decorated. The wait staff were very attentive and service was excellent. The food was tasty and the variety was good.
“Anytime Dining” in the Dining Room should be renamed! To me “Anytime Dining” means going to the Dining room any time between certain hours for dinner. But, people make dinner reservations for certain times during dinner times and so, when you walk down for dinner you wait in a line for a table, while others arrive a after a half hour and walk right past you and get a table that was reserved for a certain time. This was a nightly experience lasting differing wait times for a table. Sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. The alternative is to eat dinner in the buffet or pay in a Specialty Restaurant.
The Windjammer Buffet is very good offering a variety of choices to select from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes an announcement was made to remind passengers that other people were waiting to get a table.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is a wide variety of activities for every age and ability to do on board.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The entertainment on board was fantastic. It was some of the best we have seen on any ship. “Cats” the Broadway show was great. The ice show was fantastic as well as the Diving exhibition. The dancing and musical shows in the main theater as well as the entertainment in the clubs and on the Lido deck were very nice.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward was very good. The waiters we interacted with were attentive. But, we purchased the premium liquor package, which includes an 18% gratuity for each drink, but some bar personnel would bring back a check with NO alcohol charge but asking us to sign a check which could include an extra tip. We have cruised several times with drink packages on Princess, Celebrity, and were not treated by the the bar staff this way when we gave them our Seapass.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The layout of this ship is very nice. There are places one can go to enjoy less noise ...The Solerium or Central Park. Or one can go to somewhere more exciting...pool areas or up to the Flow Riders and sporting areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
Cabin was very clean and comfortable with a king size bed, couch, and a flat screen tv. The bathroom is nice but the shower is small. Don’t drop the soap!!
Ship tip
Make sure you book your shows and dining choices before you go.
We did anytime dining on our cruise but did make dinner reservations each night around our entertainment plans! If we didn’t feel like going to our reservation one night, we would got the the Windjammer or whatever sounded good. It’s just nice to have a reservation just in case.
