Review summary

We have sailed RCCL 4 times and this time was pretty disappointing. The meals and service were fantastic, but the cruise compass was constantly wrong and not very well organized. Both theaters had parts go bad that caused cancellations of shows and there was much about the ship that was subpar - it almost seemed as if the ship was too large to keep up with.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Went with family ranging from 10 years old to 70 years old. Family activities were scheduled overtop of each other and there were large amounts of time where no family friendly activities were available. Cruise Director was the least present I have ever seen and did not react well to adversity.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The entertainers were fantastic, unfortunately three shows were cancelled due to technical difficulties.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The layout and design were great, but the ship needs maintenance in places, especially the sport court (climbing walls, mini golf, and table tennis). The maintenance was taken care of at strange times - i.e. power sanding the railings during peak running time in the tunnel area of the track; also, pulling pieces out of the ceiling outside the dining facility 10 minutes before the main dining room seating!

Cabin / Stateroom

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Excursion got cancelled due to storms.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Snorkeling at Sapphire Beach was below average due to large crowd and shallow water. Facilities not clean and power was out all day.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We weren’t impressed by the cruise director at all during our trip in June. The woman was just fake & forced & got on my last nerve!!

I noticed that Oasis seemed a little less fulfilling than Allure. I had a great time in both but I just didn't feel as WOWed on Oasis for some of these reasons.

Who is the cruise director now?

Maybe this class of ship isn't for you. That's ok. Find one that is and happy cruising!⚓

But I do agree with the cruise director comment. I don’t even know that I knew who it was.

Sorry to hear that. I was on her in May and it was pretty much a flawless trip.

Be thankful you got to go. A lot of people don't ever get to experience a cruise. Just had a friend get diagnosed with cancer on her spine, on her brain and in her skull. Sometimes we need to step back and realize how blessed we are.

Sorry to hear you didnt like your cruise... Our cruise on the Oasis was amazing! So much so we have 3 more cruises booked on Oasis class ships in the next 15 months! 🙂

I was on the same cruise. I didn’t experience any issues at all as described above. I am sorry your experience was sub-par but ours was amazing. Better luck next time
