Review summary

Overall this cruise was excellent. After a little guffaw with our luggage, our room was great. The formal dining was very nice, although we do wish the Head Waiter could enforce ‘formal’ on the two formal nights. The ship was very clean overall with the noted odor of mildew. Long story short, it was over way too soon!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
People trying to Sell things, example specialty dining, is aggravating, especially just as you embark. Honestly, food in the main dining room, is very good, we found no need to go elsewhere. The Windjammer buffet was ok, there were always places open for breakfast, and lots of places for lunch.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
When the rooms were opened at about 1, all luggage was left at the end of the hall for us to retrieve, a little irritating. Finally met our steward that evening, he was ok.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I gave this 3 stars to hopefully get some attention. The ship is Grand but the smell of mold in the ice skating arena and several bathrooms was prominent and alarming. The room, dining, and bars were very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was our first time for a balcony room. It was midship and overlooked Central Park. The bathroom was a little bigger than most and the room had tons of storage.

Ship tip

Don’t watch the elevator floors! It goes by quick!!

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Port was clean and Buck Island snorkeling excursion was easy to find

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

St Maarten is a beautiful island, however the devastation of the hurricane last September is still everywhere. Knowing full well it was awful, unless you have a morbid desire to see the damage firsthand, the Island is not ready for tourists.

The formal nights are not what they used to be. Not as formal. Sorry to hear about the mildew odor. Hope RCCL looks into it and fixes it.
