Review summary

The Cruise Ship should not allow very young children or babies to go to the specialty dining when others have paid a lot of money to have a great dining experience. We had to sit throughout our dinner while a 4 to 5 month old screamed their head off. This was the only night we spent extra money for a nice meal and experience and it was not pleasant at all. The waiter kept apologizing. We did not let it affect how we tipped him, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough. The Cruise Ship should have rules in place for situations like these.

The polite thing to do would have been to take the baby out of the restaurant. That is basic manners, not to mention that a baby crying for that long clearly needs something.

My kids were removed from restaurant , church, movie theater etc when upset or crying and so are my grandchildren. It’s the RIGHT thing to do. I am forgiving on airplanes though as there is no where for them to go and it does hurt some babies/ children’s eats. Parents need to parent.

And then there’s people like “oasisclass5” who’s always looking for a freebie or should I say “compensation.” You would seriously ask RCCL about compensation because of a crying baby? It’s a “family” restaurant, not an “adults only” establishment.

A baby crying isn’t a unruly child! Like others have said maybe an adult only vacation is best because cruising is a family vacation.

Can't believe how many people are trying to shame the OP. Babies that cry should always be removed from the premises, and I don't care what those parents paid to be there, they never have the right to torture others with unruly children. They should have left or been asked to leave because they ruin the dining experience for everyone else. They are entitled to nothing.

Make sure to complain to royal Caribbean immediately for compensation, they are very stingy with it so don't wait

RC also only allows babies 6 months and older so I'm guessing the baby in question was probably just six months.

Not that it makes a big difference but rccl doesn't allow kids under 6 months. Perhaps you should aim for adults-only vacations. Just because you paid extra for specialty dining doesn't mean it should exclude families with young kids from dining at them. They are paying for the extra expense as well.

Cruise ships are for all ages, everyone should know that. Go to an adults only resort.

It’s a lose-lose situation unless the baby wasn’t crying. I’m quite certain the parents were embarrassed but like you have, had already paid for an expensive. I’m sure they didn’t enjoy their dinner fully as well. I bet you’re the type that complains about a crying child on an airplane. Pretty obnoxious and insensitive to the baby’s parents if you ask me. It’s all about You You You!

I agree to an extinct. They should be allowed in. But out of respect if the baby cries and cries and cries the parent should get up and excuse themselves so that they do not disturb others. I think people forgot manners and respect for others

Must be nice to feel your privileged. People pay the same money for services that you did.. your no better. Eat in your cabin if you want silence!!

You should of asked to be moved or something. Also remember you were a baby once too but i think couple with child should of maybe retreated to room. I suspect dining room would of accommodated them with room service dinner for free that night too.

So you didn't take your kids(if ya have kids) out to eat until what age?
