Review summary

Way to WOW all your guest Royal Caribbean!!! It's no wonder why RC is the BEST!!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got to the Cruise Terminal early, checked in and were ready to board the ship by 10:30. We were given our SeaPass Cards and another Gold Card prior to boarding. We had to wait approximately 30 minutes while the crew continued to prepare the ship for new guest embarkation. The waiting area was clean, comfortable and bright. There were assigned waiting areas based on your Crown & Anchor Levels with plenty of seating for everyone, Once we were called, we were Gold which was the 4th group called, we were on the ship within just a few minutes and up to the Solarium for a great lunch! Embarkation could not have been easier.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We have sailed in RC exclusively and have no other dining experiences to compare to but the food on this cruise was fantastic. In fact, on all of our RC cruises has been wonderful! We did not due any of the Specialty Restaurants but everyone we talked to who had raved about the food, service and overall experience. The buffets were excellent. They had food for every taste and variety. The Windjammer was never crowded and the Solarium was a nice alternative to the hustle of Windjammer.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There is so much to do and explore on this ship, I wish we could have done it all. For us, our favorites are the Zipline and Flowrider which were such fun. We didn't climb the rock wall or ice skate but plan to on our next cruise which will be on the Allure, the Oasis sister ship!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Once again, the shows were amazing on Oasis! I would recommend anyone who is not familiar with the show, CATS, do yourself a simple favor, read the Cliff Notes or T. S. Elliot's book before you cruise so you'll understand and have an idea of what the show is about. Additionally, stay for the second half of the CATS show after intermission, it is so much better than the first half! Overall the acting is excellent with so much talent, you'll think you are on Broadway! The Oasis of Dream show in the Aqua Theater is a definite, DO NOT MISS SHOW. It is spectacular, with a Cirque du Soleil flare similar to the show O at the Bellagio in Las Vegas! The comics were the best we've seen so far. Frozen In Time is amazing as well and to watch the performers skate in a tight venue is impressive. The Headliner Show and Come Fly with me had some excellent props and great songs too. Don't miss any of these shows, you'll be missing out on some top talent and the experience of Broadway or Vegas venues!!

Theater

5 out of 5

Beautiful theater with essentially nothing obstruction your view. We sat in the back, in the private "bump out" similar to Loge seats with Table Top seating and it was outstanding! Our own private seating with great bar service. I highly recommend grabbing those seats and enjoy!

Children's Programs

We did not have children traveling with us.

Service and Staff

All crew members were engaging and eager to help make the cruise experience excellent.

Ship Quality

Awesome ship!! Oasis is a Megaship with no reason to be hesitant to sail on her. You do need to your homework and pre-planning before you board. You should book all your shows and entertainment early and prior to boarding otherwise you may not be able to see a show, except on a Will Call basis. Each show has limited seating and times and you don't want to miss any of them. Book your shows, times before you board and enjoy!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a Boardwalk Balcony room which was great! You can enjoy a balcony room that overlooks the Boardwalk, have a view of the Aqua Theater and Ocean!! You can't beat the view from these rooms. You can people watch, ocean watch, watch Zipliners all from your balcony. It's the best of all views!

Ship tip

Do your research and planing before your board. It is a large ship but easily manageable and get around. Try the various buffet restaurants, they offer different types of foods.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

We only sailed from Port Canaveral. We visited Orlando and Universal Studios before our cruise.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We rented a Beach Cabana and loved it! The island BBQ was delicious with very little wait time. We also had some "street performers" in our seating area which were fun to watch.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
The secure Cruise Ship area was nice, however the immediate area "outside the fence" was disappointing. We didn't book an excursion and just walked in Falmouth. The weather was a bit overcast and rainy but we made the best of it. Falmouth, like most ports rely on tourism as a major source of income however the pressure from the local residents was uncomfortable and we returned to the secure area without fully enjoying the city itself. If you can, we recommend an excursion at this port.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did not do an excursion here, but rather we met some friend who were vacationing in Cozumel. They met us we took a cab into Cozumel and shopped the many stores in the "city center" We enjoyed some of the biggest Margaritas and Daiquiri's at Wet Wendy's we have ever had! A great outdoor venue for a drink. We also took a cab to the Money Bar where we had an excellent lunch. The restaurant is located right on the water at the Money Bar Beach Club in San Miguel de Cozumel. It has great food and an even better view!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did not set our luggage out for pick up, we carried our luggage off the ship. We had arranged early transportation for our flight out of Orlando and our designated disembarkation time was too late. The process was easy for us it looked like RC has a developed a great system for getting the luggage off the ship and organized so you can claim your luggage in the luggage hall. It seemed effective and quick even with with large number of people leaving the ship. Well done RC!!

I agree with you about CATS. I was curious and did my research. It made me excited for it and I was able to understand and enjoy it. Everyone else in my group hated it.
