Review summary

Boardwalk Balcony cabin level 8 was a great location central to everything. Don’t miss ice and aqua shows, zipline, trivia, Giovanni’s and Chops. If you get Jermaine as your cabin steward, you’re in luck! Have fun on the Oasis!

Getting aboard was a breeze!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We especially loved the Solarium, Giovanni’s and Chops. Sabor had divine guacamole and sangria. The main dining room was nice, but we were a party of two, so it was loud and chaotic for us. I think it would have been more fun with a larger group. The Windjammer was great for breakfast or a quick lunch, but always crowded (we were there during peak times, though).

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools were nice and always clean. Putt putt golf was fun to play and the zip line was a big thrill! We liked the trivia games and I liked shopping a bit.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The Aqua Show and Ice Show were fantastic. Cats was also very entertaining. We liked the Headliner act and they really stepped up when there was a technical issue with the Come Fly With Me show, as did some of the Cats cast members...nice save on that one! We were less than impressed with the Comedy Club act.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We can’t say enough good things about our cabin steward, Jermaine. He was always friendly and quick to offer help or accommodate our requests. He knew us by name right away and never failed to greet us every morning and evening with a smile. He was truly outstanding! We found the rest of the staff on board to be unfailingly polite, pleasant and helpful. Our waiter at Giovanni’s on Sunday night was tremendous, and the waiters and staff at the Solarium were all top notch!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We had an 8th floor Boardwalk balcony cabin. It was convenient to everything. The layout and design of the ship was amazing - we really liked the different neighborhoods and even though it was a huge ship, we were able to find our way around pretty easily! Common areas were kept spotless by a busy crew. They all seemed to be working very hard at all hours!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was in a great location. We were able to watch the Aqua Show from the balcony plus the Sexiest Man contest, and the Belly Flop contest! They showed movies at night and we enjoyed that once as well. The cabin had plenty of closet space and hangers, and multiple cabinets and drawers. We stored empty suitcases under the bed and never felt cramped or crowded. The shower had rounded doors, so it was pretty roomy for a ship shower. It was hard to wash your face without splashing water on the floor ( small sink), but overall it was very comfortable.

Ship tip

Try everything. Go to the top level to watch departures from the ports. Don’t miss the view from the 5th floor track at the rear of the ship. Order coffee and pastries from room service the night before and enjoy it on the balcony each morning...it’s free! Eat at Giovanni’s Table. Try the Solarium for dinner...no upcharge and the ambience and food are fantastic. Sit in a round lounger in the Solarium in the evening with the drink of the day and enjoy the sunset! Do the zip line - scary but worth it!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Lines were long to board but they moved very quickly.

Nassau, Bahamas

We had been to Nassau before, so we didn’t spend much time off the ship here. Beautiful scenery!

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We rented a cabana at the beach and enjoyed watching the zipliners. The roller coaster was a blast and views af the island were spectacular! Try a Labadoozie. You will need water shoes - it is a very rocky coastline, but the water was great. We saw several people without water shoes having a tough time getting in and out.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
The port itself was very nice - did some shopping at Pirhana Joe’s - very crowded, but cute t-shirts. Went to Margaritaville and enjoyed a bucket of ice cold Red Stripes! This was not on our original itinerary, so we were a little disappointed. 80% rain chance the day we were in port, so we didn’t venture outside for any excursions.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Long lines, but again, it moved very smoothly. Took us about an hour from the start to pulling out of the port on the way home.
