Review summary

We had a great cruise. This was our 11th cruise but first cruise on Royal Caribbean and it was pure pleasure. We have always been fans of NCL, but the entertainment and service on this boat were second to none. The ship itself was beautiful. Never felt crowded even with 6500+ passengers on board. Between the Promenade, Central Park, the Boardwalk and the pool areas, the common areas were just beautiful. No complaints about the food. but high compliments to the wait staff and to the cabin steward. We had a great time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
For the amount of passengers on board, we boarded quickly and were able to go directly to our stateroom.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room each evening for dinner. The waitstaff was outstanding. The food was good and there always was a selection that was enjoyable. The buffet was also good from breakfast and lunch. Not outstanding but definitely good. Free soda package for inside balconies with Coke machines was very convenient.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools and hot tubs were all very nice. Rock climbing wall was enjoyable.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was top notch, best of any cruise ship that we have been on.

Service and Staff

Fantastic! Both our waiter and cabin attendant were great. Best we can remember.

Ship Quality

It's a beautiful ship. On the Promenade deck you forget you are on a ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin worked out great. No complaints. Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage.

Ship tip

Take advantage of all the entertainment options. From ice show, acrobats, swimmers, and CATS

We traveled on our own to Atlantis. Took ferry boat to Paradise Island and explored Atlantis. Then took taxi to John Waitling distillery. Had great Pina Coladas. Walked back to ship stopped at Cigar Factory and chocolate factory on the way and did some shopping.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Took taxi to downtown to do some shopping. Then another taxi to Coki Beach. Beach was great except for all the seaweed. Took taxi back to ship.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Rented a car at the dock. Drove to airport beach and enjoyed the planes and the water. Beautiful beach. Rented chairs and umbrella and had a great time. After done, drove loop around rest of island and dropped car of at dock. Great day!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Faster than the embarkation. We had an early flight so did our own walk off. I don't think we stopped walking once. Very fast thru customs with no delay.

I had the same experience when I was on the ship back in April 2016. The ship is huge, so we are going back to do everything we wish we had done the first time. So much to do I feel it takes a full 2 weeks to fully enjoy everything on the ship. The main dining room food was outstanding.
