We will only cruise with Royal Caribbean. We've been on one cruise with Carnival and now three with Royal and you can't compare the two. Even though our experience the first day wasn't the best, with the mix-up with our room, the overall trip experience was great. The food, service and activities are amazing. We really enjoyed the Oasis of the Seas ship! We felt very little motion even in a storm (on the last night).
Embarkation

At the time of check in, our key cards were missing. The rep left to locate them. He was gone for quite a while. He came back, giving us our keys without informing us that the room was different than our sea pass information and luggage tags. We boarded the ship, carrying several carry on bags and camera equipment. We had too many items to go directly to lunch so we waited 40 minutes on the stairs until our "room" was ready. When we were able to go to the room our keys did not work. I left Glen there with our bags while I went to stand in line (20 minutes) at guest services. There I learned that our room had been changed and we were never informed and new luggage tags were not sent to us. We finally made it to the new room, which thankfully was an upgrade, but the stateroom attendant was not aware that room had been booked. She wrote our information on her list. She was AMAZING and very helpful! For the next 3 hours, after contacting guest services a couple more times, and making 4 trips to the other end of the ship and down 7 floors to our original room; we finally located our luggage. At that time it was getting close for the required safety training, so no one would assist us in transporting all our luggage to our new room. Glen and I had to carry all of our luggage (6 large bags) up to the 5th floor and across the ship, then up to deck 10. We were very frustrated. We went back to guest services and they at least gave us a specialty dinner for the trouble we had been through. The rest of the week was perfect! The staff and crew, especially our waiters and stateroom attendant, made the trip special. It was my birthday and our anniversary trip.

Food and Dining

The food was great
Onboard Activities

Zip line, pools, shows
Entertainment

The shows were Great! My husband is a musician and for the most part we enjoyed the stage shows. We did not enjoy the music by the pool. We chose to sit in the Solarium or the Sun deck to enjoy the sun views but avoid the loud, poor quality band.
Children's Programs
No children on our trip
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of the crew, especially our state room attendant and waiters were fabulous!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean! The ship layout was easy to learn. Probably because we walked the ship so many times when we first boarded to locate our room and luggage, lol.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean and comfortable.
Ship tip
We felt very little motion on the Oasis ship. It was much better than the smaller ships and the activities were great. It was a little crowded though. It is hard to find a quiet place to just rest and relax. The pool areas are so loud with unwanted music or crew members talking over microphones for classes, etc. that we stayed away from that area for the most part.
It was pretty but we had very little time there that we did not book an excursion. We walked to the Fort, which was very far in that heat. It was our least favorite day!
We enjoyed CocoCay better (previous cruise) than Labadee. We felt that we were being charged for everything except the chairs. We never found hammocks to lay in or really a nice quite place to relax.
For what it was, it was fine. We had a 12 hour drive home so we couldn't wait for our 9:15 am disembarkation assigned time. We chose to carry all our luggage off on our own, which was difficult with just the two of us. Nothing the cruise-line could have done any differently
