Review summary

This cruise was the best cruise of the five we have taken. The ship is a little smaller than a lot of the new megaliners. It held about 1700 passengers but it was clean and well kept. Our stateroom had a balcony and was quite spacious and comfortable. The Italian Restaurant had outstanding food. In fact the food in general was excellent. The thing that really distinguished this cruise experience was the open friendly nature of all of the staff. From the room stewards to the Captain everyone was so friendly and concerned about you and making sure that you were having a good time. The entertainment was outstanding. Karen, the lead singer in the show cast, has an unbelievable voice, powerful with superior range and clarity. Fred, the pianist in the piano bar had an unlimited repertoire and interacted with those in the bar between sets. His knowledge of music and music history was superior. The gift shops were run by extremely capable, and again, friendly staff. Julietta, in the jewelry shop made my wife's trip memorable, with a little help from me. After 35 years of marriage this was finally the honeymoon we had never gotten around to and NCL made it most memorable.

The food was outstanding and the service even better.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The quality of the shows, the musicians, the comedians, and other entertainers was outstanding. The shows were well choreographed and exciting.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As far as we are concerned the crew makes this ship and makes this cruise. The service throughout the ship was professional and friendly. Everyone was willing to go out of their way to make you comfortable. The wait staff in the piano bar knew us by name and our preferences by the first night and we never had to wait for service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is a little small but it is intimate and well cared for.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ports of call

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
We went ziplining for the first time here and would definitely do it again. The guides were excellent and the activity was exhilerating.
Don't Miss: Ziplining

Fanning Island, Kiribati

5 out of 5
A quiet, right out of turn of the century polynesia, island. The natives were extremely friendly. Visit the craft market and the "private beach".

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
The coffee then and now tour is a must see. The coffee is outstanding and seeing how little the growing and harvesting has changed was surprising.

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Great port and the volcano is a must see.

Lahaina, Maui

5 out of 5
The shops, the luaui at the Sheraton, the scrimshaw shop.
Don't Miss: Whale watching with the Pacific Whale Foundation.

Pros: The friendliness of the NCL crew. They truly made us feel at home.

Cons: The Pacific is a little rough in January but the ship handled it well and the Captain provided us with a good ride.
