Review summary

An awesome first cruise-didn’t want to leave!! Next one we will definitely take a longer trip-4 days is not long enough!!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Port Canaveral was fairly smooth to embark-about 20-30 minutes in the terminal (pre COVID). Give one of the longshoremen a few bucks to take your suitcase to your room-you don’t want to drag it around all day until your room is ready!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I was very impressed with the food in both the main dining rooms and the specialty restaurants. Service was excellent all around.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This was a smaller ship but also a shorter cruise (embark on Monday, debark on Friday). We found that there was PLENTY to do. No slides or race tracks, but there were also fewer people. We loved the outdoor bar at the aft of the ship and people watching by the pool.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Didn’t see any shows on this trip although we meant to. LOVED the white hot party the last night. Also the newlywed game and “Deal or No deal” type games were very entertaining. The cruise staff definitely know how to keep people entertained and engaged while everyone is on the ship at night.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every single person that works for NCL is so happy to see you and help you. I don’t think there is anyone that is not smiling on this ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Like any cruise ship, it takes a day or so to figure out where you’re going. I didn’t love how the casino was open to smoke and how the lounge seemed to be a main thoroughfare to get around on one of the main promenade decks, but other than that-the ship is lovely although I do believe it is up for dry dock soon.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I don’t remember our cabin number, but it was an ocean view on a low deck (I believe 4). I liked being low because it helped with seasickness and was easy access to the dining room by the stairs. Very clean, good size for a cruise cabin, and our steward was wonderful.

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Not my favorite port, but the beach was beautiful. We took a cab for a few bucks out to the beach where there was a bunch of water slides/trampolines, cabanas, etc. There was a drink stand, a small cafe, and a bunch of hermit crabs on the rocks that we were able to pick up and play with :)

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Loved Ardastra gardens. Beautiful botanical garden with flamingos and lots of wildlife. Came in the middle of the day but I bet it would be BEAUTIFUL with all the string lights in the evening. Staff was wonderful. Also check out the rum distillery and the pirate museum.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Longer lines for debarkation than embarkation :( This could be Port Canaveral or the fact that everyone was antsy to get home. We chose to self debark and carry our own luggage which meant we were first off (very early) but there was still a very long line at customs. They may have needed more agents.
