Review summary

Cruising to us is all about the ship. This ship was smaller, which is what we were looking for. Ship is in excellent shape after being upgraded last year. Great Stirrup Cay is a great place for a nice beach day. This was the shortest cruise we have taken (3 nights). I think in the future, we will hold to 5 nights or more. It seemed that we were just figuring out where everything was and it was time to leave. Enjoyable getaway.

Embarkation

We were checking in. The gentleman had our passports, looked at computer and said he would be right back. He was gone 25 minutes and we were never told why. On his return, he said he made an error on a previous booking and had to clear it up with the ship. They should do that when they are not in the middle of checking in a customer.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was very good, however we wanted a Diet Coke and had to go outside to the bar and wait in line to get them. Bring soft drinks and iced tea into the buffet area. We were not impressed with the dining room. Service was good but food was way below par. French Onion soup looked like it was poured out of a can. The bread on top was very small and the mozzarella cheese was a slice on top of the bread. My wife's pasta dish was very dry. Drinks were good and service at the bars was average. No personal connection with customers. Just doing their jobs.

Onboard Activities

The comedy show was excellent. The hypnosis show was a scam and stupid. The DJ music at the pool area was way too loud. My wife said other cruise ships can probably hear it. Not many people at the 80's party because of the volume. We heard people at the bar at the other end of the pool area saying they had to leave because they can't hear what others were saying. The game shows were great and entertaining. The group High Five were excellent!

Entertainment

High Five was excellent! New Year's Eve gala was great. All the DJ music topside was way to loud, day and night.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was excellent. It was our anniversary and every day when we came back to our room, there was something special for us. Great job. Customer Relations was excellent and the Internet Director was very good.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout was adequate but was broken up. It was hard to navigate from front to back without having to go up and down a couple times. Ship looks great and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
First time we cruised without a balcony. Room was considerably smaller but it was OK. The shower is too small compared to competitive cruise lines.

Ship tip

It took us a while ti find, but if you walk through the buffet and out the backside, there is another food area called the Sports Bar which serves other types of food including hot dogs, hamburgers and fries.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

We always get to Port Canaveral a couple days early and stay at Cocoa Beach. Very nice area.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Very nice, clean, and food everywhere. Need to do a better job with the bars. Lines were very long. Maybe open up a couple mini bars for beer & wine only.

Nassau, Bahamas

Been here twice. This time we didn't leave the ship. Not much to do. Excursions are way over priced.

Disembarkation

This was easy and no lines. Facial recognition speeds everything up.
