The ports were great! The staff exceptional! The ship is fresh, large rooms & balconies in comparison to the newer ships.
Embarkation

Easy on! Arrived at 11am, did a quick check-in process and we were onboard!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Ship is in great shape! Love the ships that are a bit older as the cabins are larger, the balconies larger, nice promenade deck to sit in the shade and watch the world sail by. Only wish they had more chairs on the promenade deck as they were limited.
Onboard Activities

everything was up to speed. The newer ships they cram too much into too little space and have too many people. The Sun is perfect, enough space for everyone. Ample public space to "get away" from other travelers and have your own space.
Entertainment

everything we attended was done wonderfully!
Service and Staff

Very well maintained. Sailed on the Sun when she first set sail and then again on this cruise. I think she looks better now than when she first came out.

cabin attendant was amazing. Always so friendly and so helpful. We also provided him with an additional cash tip as he went way beyond what we have experienced from previous cabin attendants. Good size room and balconies on these older ships are a great size - you can actually sit out and have space!
Ship tip
Arrive early, get on, go to the buffet, have a drink, start your vacation get a way!
Key West used to be amazing. Sadly, all the unique bars, galleries, etc have given way to CVS, Walgreens, t-shirt & taffy shops. We visited the Hemmingway Home which is a definite must!
This way an amazing experience! Great to meet the Cuban people, so friendly and welcoming! We were there on May 1st which is workers day holiday. Great to see all the small businesses people have opened to support the cruise ship passengers - everything from hand made items, to rum and cigar shops. Many locals opened little stores in the front of their homes or along the street. Very friendly and not pushy. So sad the US Gov. felt they needed to stop all tourism /people to people. The US is the only country in the world that cant go to Cuba - very sad. We were hoping to go back again soon. The 1950s cars were fun to ride in. We went on a local walking tour where we learned so much including his govt food ration book and how that all works. Very enlightening.
