Review summary

The main reason we took this cruise was to see Cuba and Belize. Cuba was OK but we could not get off in Belize. I did not like the private islands we visited as I would much rather visit with the local people. I will not be taken anymore cruises with the private islands.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
All of the bartenders were fantastic and the drinks were very good. (We had the drink package and if you're a drinker, I would highly recommend. The specialty dinners were also very good. We had one sit down breakfast and lunch and was disappointed in both. The food was better at the buffet on 11.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

The entertainment was OK but not as good as previous cruises I've taken.

Cabin / Stateroom

Overall, the room was very good. We had several maintenance issues (safe not working, coffee pot plug bad) but they were taken care of in a timely manner.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

2 out of 5
It's a private island owned by Norwegian so not much to do except beach activities which I'm not really interested in. I would prefer to see the real Bahamas.

HAVANA, CUBA

4 out of 5
I've always wanted to visit Cuba and I'm glad I did but will not go back. Not enough there to interest me. OK if you like old cars, cigars, and rum but other than that, pretty depressing.

Harvest Caye, Belize

1 out of 5
We were all packed and waiting to exit when the captain announced that we would not be going to shore because of the wind conditions. The port is not very deep and the wind was blowing away from shore so he could not dock. Belize was one of the reasons I booked this cruise.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

2 out of 5
This port was a newer "community" comprised of expensive gift shops. It was not typical at all of real Mexico. You could take a taxi into a real Mexican town if desired.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy and fast disembarkation. Customs was a breeze with no waiting and we were in the last group to get off the ship.
