Review summary
We decided at the last minute to take a cruise. We checked and saw that NCL had a cruise leaving within 7 days. We had never cruised with this particular line before so we decided to try it. Our first impression of the Norwegian Sun was the low key decor in comparison to some of the other ships we have cruised on. Our ocean view cabin was a very good size, well appointed and good use of space. The swimming pool area is small and gets very crowded, especially on sea days. However there are lots of other deck space where you can stretch out and enjoy the view and the sun. We ate 3 nights at the specialty restaurants(out of a 7 night cruise). The food and service were excellent, however we felt that one charge of 25.00 per person was enough, and that the extra charge of 10.00 per person depending on what you ordered from the menu was total overkill. In the main dining rooms the service was excellent, the food was good. Just loved freestyle cruising.Ship experiences
