We had a great time on this cruise! Our daughter flew in from Alaska to join us, and my wife's parents flew in from Atlanta, so we had a group of five on the cruise. We got to see the Northern Lights several nights. This was our first time sailing north of the Arctic Circle and got to spend a night where the sun never went down. Wonderful time!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation in NYC was pretty easy. They have a separate check-in line for suite guests and it moved quickly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate most dinners in the MDR and the food was really good. I got to eat sushi with my daughter. There was more sushi than we could finish off. We did Teppanyaki and Moderno for our specialty restaurants, and really enjoyed them.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty of stuff onboard to keep us busy for two weeks.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were entertaining. It was hard to see from the suite guest seating, though. Plenty of musicians throughout the ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was outstanding! We found two bars where the wait staff took REALLY good care of us. Never had to flag someone down to get a refill.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The layout was easy to navigate, even with my scooter. The ship was kept clean by the staff.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were in the Deluxe Owner's Suite and there was plenty of room for all 3 of us. We had a front and a side balcony with plenty of room.
Ship tip
It's an older, smaller ship, but we tend to enjoy those.
Disembarkation was easy. The airport transfer is where we had issues. We were told there would be a van to take us with my scooter, and were assured the van was there and waiting for us. Once off the ship, we found no van, and when I asked the transport workers, they radioed and told me the van was over an hour away. We ended up on a regular bus, as they were able to put my scooter in the luggage bay underneath the seating.
