I wouldn’t have minded a few more ports of call...only 5 on an 11 day trip. Also, only being in port for 8 hours really limited the ability to enjoy the places without it being smoldering hot! The ship handled the rough weather very well, and seemed to be smooth sailing the entire time.
Embarkation

Very slow loading process due to customs and immigration inspection. I’m sure it usually goes more smoothly than this one did.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was actually a balcony room and we loved it...so glad I Big for the upgrade. Don’t think I would have enjoyed the cruise as much if I wasn’t able to allow fresh air in every day!
Ship tip
Well the one disappointing this is that thy allow smoking in the casino, and smoke travels so there were a couple of places that the smoke would linger to and get trapped in....I hate smoke so I just avoided those places, and we didn’t gamble not one penny because of the smoking.
We hired a private taxi to go tot he blue hole, which I enjoyed immensely! However, Jamaica itself was very old, poor and dirty. And the aggression of the locals...unacceptable. I would not visit here again.
I want to say good things about St. Maarten, but we got ripped off by the vendor we shopped at...they did not put all the items we purchased into our shopping bag and we did not realize until we unpacked back on the ship and it was too late to do anything about it. I’ll be much more wary next time. Sucks they treat tourists like that.
We did not do an excursion here. Thought about renting a car but they drive on the opposite side of the road which shocked me being a US territory! Very industrial area where our cruise ship was docked.
