Review summary

This was my first cruise with Norwegian. I had very high expectations due to all the comments I had read.. in someways I was disappointed and in others excited.. I found the decor of the ship to be very “drab”. I’m used to the the over the top look of Carnival and Royal. I was misled about formal/elegant night. There was one on Norwegian although many had said there was not. However it was optional. The food choices were by far the best attribute Norwegian had to offer...loved all the restaurants! The entertainment was also superior! I would cruise with Norwegian again.

There's always at least one elegant night on NCL when many choose to dress up. Those who choose not look strange in their cruise casual among the rest.

It's not really a formal night. It's dress up or not. NCL is very casual in its "freestyle" type of cruising.
