Review summary

My sister and I enjoyed this transatlantic cruise immensely. We especially liked the layout of the Star, and the friendliness of the guests and staff. The shows were excellent, and we really enjoyed the Melodious Trio from the Philippines who played mostly in the Grand Atrium. Also we liked dining in the beautiful and elegant Versailles dining room. Finally, we thoroughly enjoyed always being able to find a table on the Lido deck because we spent a lot of time there during the day eating breakfast and/or lunch or just hanging out.

I really enjoyed all of the tables and chairs on the Lido deck. I think the water slides should be removed because they were close, plus they obstructed the view. All of the common areas were clean and well maintained.

The excursion to Alhambra in Granada was very good, except it would have been nice to have more time. Also, our guide leading us to the bus afterwards was difficult to follow. He was short and he did not have an extended flag that we could see. He should have told us where the bus would be in case anyone got lost in the crowd. Many residents of Granada mixed in with our group which made it difficult to see our guide. Two women in our group who were following did not make it to the bus. Our guide ran back to look for them. He couldn’t find them, so we left. I don’t know how they could have made it back to the ship on time. Very disturbing.

I think the excursion to the palm tree forest should have been rated a 1 instead of 2. The excursion was very easy and enjoyable.

I really liked the sight seeing tour of Barcelona, and being dropped off at Catalunya Square. My hotel was near there.
