Review summary

Overall a great crossing with many fun and memorable experiences and new people, which over shadowed the poor embarking and Teo negative staff experiences! Doing it again next year!

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Arrived in Civitavecchia and a wild rain storm occurred. No covered areas to wait for port buses to take to ship, not enough buses requiring long wait time in the pouring rain. We were soaked bags wet and to add insult to injury, once paper processed we had to go out in the rain again to board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining needs more variety in menu selections on long cruises. Same menu for each restaurant with sometimes different preparations between restaurants. O’Sheehan continually left me wanting for what I ordered is not what I received.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center and golf were wonderful since I do Tai Chi they were accommodating allowing me space when not in use. Pools too crowded!

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Musical trio played virtually every nite in prime location (atrium) were limited vocally and musical selection not diverse for population. Assumptions were made about musical selections. Other stage shows were excellent especially string duo and female pianist/ singer

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was overall wonderful except for two experiences with Chinese staff, one stewardess and one guest services. They require more training in handling different cultures from their own and how to not offend guests.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Older ship is well maintained and thoroughly cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Bed was comfortable and room dimension allowed for ease of movement. Size of bathroom was a great plus for taller guests.

Ship tip

Expect a major difference from larger ships in selection and variety, but staff makes it most enjoyable.
