Review summary
Longer than expected dining times for dinner in the two Dining Rooms. One night our dining experience took 2 hours & 15 minutes. Three evenings we sat at the table for quite some time before a waiter even came to our table. The wait time between courses was too long. We had 6:30pm reservations each evening and the least amount of time we spent at the table was 1hour & 45 minutes.
Long lines for bar service! Unable to get to the pool/hot tubs as Spring Breakers were living in those areas. At one point, we counted 21 people in one hot tub, 19 in the other one. Any effort to get to one of the hot tubs was met with..." No room here, folks". We did enjoy our evenings in the Atrium and at the bar located at O'Sheehans. Our room was nice, though the last morning on ship, the room steward had moved our carryon luggage off the bed and was making up the room around our things. It was 8:00am & we had gone to breakfast with plans to return for our luggage at that time. We were off the ship by 8:30am as we were instructed to do, but I felt you could wait to begin cleaning, changing beds until we were out of the room.

Ship tip
Liked the location of our Stateroom, Mid-ship Balcony. Liked the Atrium area and O'Sheehan's restaurant. The staff in O'Sheehans was the most friendly we had during our cruise. The Bar staff was kept very busy but were for the most part friendly as well.

Sail date March 6th. The pool bar was a 20 min wait to get a Cocktail. No waiters available.
Buffet was always crowded & breakfast had the same food. Rooms OK. Ship was old and remodeled partially. They get your money up front for the Alcohol package so there is no incentive to provide good service.

Most cruise lines the MDR is about 1.5 to 2 hours for dinner. If you do not want to spend that much time you can go to other dining venues like the Buffet, burger grill, pizza or Deli.
I will say though, that the worst service I have had on any cruise ship has been both times on the NCL Star. (out of over 20 cruises)

Thank you for posting the review and comments. It is unfortunate when experience doesn't live up to the hype. Don't give up on cruising altogether. Instead, look at taking a cruise on another line. Each cruise line approaches onboard experience and customer service a bit differently.
