Review summary
We just returned from a week in Paradise. Norwegian Star was the bomb! For my 11th cruise we selected NCL since it was visiting a wide range of central american cities and we were not disappointed. Honduras was a tropical jungle. Primitive but fun and functional. My son ziplined and thoroughly enjoyed it. In Belize we tubed into the underground caverns which is a must do. (Despite the 3 mile hike though the rainforest.) It was amazing. Costa Maya we went to the Mayan ruins at Chochoban. We viewed the 5th rising of the pyramid in this village which of itself was remarkable but realization that this was a way of life for 5 different groups of Mayan people was earthshaking. The massiveness of the pyramid and the uniformity to hand carved blocks for construction not to mention the feat of getting the 200 ft. pyramid built was simply awesome. Cozumel being the most commercialized of the ports was still the shopping mecca of the Yucatan.
The rooms were slightly cramped but adequate. June our room steward was awesome. Dining was delightful. The dining room held all the ambiance of fine dining and the buffet was also a good alternative. The waiters on the pool deck with having the unlimited drink package were not so attentive as usual but we managed. All in all, it was wonderful but I realize now why I usually book RCCL.
