Review summary
We took a 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise out of Tampa on the Star. We were very disappointed on the food on this voyage. We were excited to try the breakfast at O'Sheenans. Turns out that the food was apparently just buffet food that was brought up to us. The French toast was completely cold and the scrambled eggs were the weird egg substitute that the buffet uses (and yes again ice cold). At the Aqua restaurant the Prime rib was good but the baked potato with sour cream and chives had literally 1/4 tsp of sour cream and exactly 2 chive bits. The broccoli that came with it was literally 1 florette. And this was after waiting 40 minutes for a table. The service in the Aqua was extremely slow. Drinks at every place on the ship were like $11 after the 18% gratituity was added. Apparently with all the people on the ship with the free drink package the bartenders were making alll drinks extremely weak. Maybe okay if you're not paying but paying full price this was was very disappointing. We get the free drink package advertisements all the time but whenever we want to cruise there is always some blockout etc. On the plus side the room was very clean and cabin steward was very diligent and nice. Spa staff were really nice and my massage was wonderful. Not sure we want to try Norwegian again unless we got the free specialty dining and drink package.
