Review summary

This was our 4th Norwegian cruise, and it was probably our most relaxing.  From the time we boarded until we departed the ship, we enjoyed every minute.  The food was delicious and healthy (we ate exclusively at the Market Buffet so we could get exactly what we wanted), the weather was gorgeous, and the ports we visited were very interesting.  Also the entertainment was top notch every night.  We love to walk, and so we were able to jog 2 miles every day on the jogging deck.  Nothing like being out at sea and breathing that fresh air.  The crew and service on board the Norwegian Star are fantastic.  We especially liked having the Ultimate Beverage Package since we are avid wine drinkers.  All in all, we had a fabulous time and look forward to our next Norwegian outing.

Cabin was roomy and comfortable. We were even able to keep the door open to the balcony occasionally to hear the waves.

Ship tip

Nice to be mid ship. Nice smooth ride. Loved walking on Deck 7, but wish smoking were totally prohibited. Maybe Norwegian should have a total ban on smoking on certain ships.

Ports of call

The Cozumel museum downtown was very interesting and only $4.

The Mayan ruins at Chacchoben were incredible. Great tour!

You need to take the tender from the ship into port. We didn't spend much time here.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Carambola Botanical Gardens were very nice. You get to sample the fruits that are growing at the end of your visit.

View from ship of the port of Roatan Honduras. Here we are at the Chacchoben ruins in Costa Maya with our Mayan tour guide.

actually Norwegian does have ships with the screens. we were on the breakaway last may and they did.

garythack    8 years ago

norwegian don't if you done some research

chadley77    8 years ago

And yet most of the cruise ships show movies on the big screen on the Lido deck during the day and at night and many people watch them.

garythack    8 years ago

P's it's a public forum don't have to be asked

garythack    8 years ago

I also said it's only a movie that's all its a cruise not a movie theatre

kimidd96    8 years ago

comments elsewhere garythack. I made a simple statement about one thing the ship didn't have. I never said we didn't have a good time.

kimidd96    8 years ago

why don't you take your condescending

garythack    8 years ago

erm get over your own self it's just a movie ya mong

chadley77    8 years ago

Nobody asked your opinion.

I enjoyed watching a movie under the stars on my last 2 cruises. I also did many other things on the cruises. Get over yourself.

garythack    8 years ago

holy crap bummed because you can't watch a movie !!!!! Lots of free entertainment every night OMG

chadley77    8 years ago

Well that is a bummer.

Annedave, we too will be on the Star March 20th!

kimidd96    8 years ago

there is no large screen on the ship. the only movies they show are in the theater area. this is a smaller ship that is lacking a lot the larger ships have on them. I was bummed they didn't have one

chadley77    8 years ago

Do they show movies on the big screen on the pool deck at night? We are sailing on the Norwegian Star April 10th. We have cruised Carnival and Royal Caribbean and they show movies at night like that.

Mr. Sancho's in Cozumel is a must. $50 all inclusive beach/resort. all you can eat, drink, showers, bathroom facilities, swim up bars in beautifully clean pools. we booked it thru TripAdvisor
