Review summary

The ship and overall experience was superb. But for the really good food, you had to pay as much as $35 extra per person to go to specialty restaurants aboard the ship.

We enjoyed Puerto Vallarta, although the main part of town is a long way from the dock. Expect to book a tour or take a taxi.

We loved going on an Ocean Riders whale-watching excursion, which we booked through Vacation Outlet. It wasn't available through Norwegian, though, and we almost didn't get to shore in time to go on the excursion.
