Delightful cruise

Sail Date: April 02, 2011

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship and overall experience was superb. But for the really good food, you had to pay as much as $35 extra per person to go to specialty restaurants aboard the ship.

Pros: Friendliness of the crew and staff, fantastic entertainment

Cons: Paying extra for specialty restaurants

Recommends Norwegian Star? Yes!

Food and Dining
The food overall was good. But for the really good stuff, you had to pay extra and go to their specialty restaurants.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Very comfortable room and exemplary service.
Service and Staff
We were very impressed with the crew and staff.
The entertainment was Las Vegas quality -- far above what we expected on a cruise ship.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
We enjoyed Puerto Vallarta, although the main part of town is a long way from the dock. Expect to book a tour or take a taxi.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
We loved going on an Ocean Riders whale-watching excursion, which we booked through Vacation Outlet. It wasn't available through Norwegian, though, and we almost didn't get to shore in time to go on the excursion.
