Review summary

The ship was very well maintain and the service was top notch. While we were essentially going first class with a one bedroom cabin the trip and service exceeded our expectations.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The freestyle dining worked well for us and the food was very good. The portions were a bit small but once we realized it we ordered addtional to make up for it. The cover charges for the special dining was well worth the price (although we did not try all restaurants),

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We did not participate in any of the on-board events except the Captain's reception which was a bit lackluster.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service at our room but the steward, butler and concierage were top notch. They were available and responsive whenever we needed them.

Ports of call

Skagway, Alaska

3 out of 5
The Skagway railway was great as was the RR museum. The shops in the town were okay but a bit lacking.
Don't Miss: Railroad Trip on Skayway to Yukon.

Prince Rupert, British Columbia

Not much at this port plus it was late in the day which limited activities. The museum near the ship had a great gift shop.
Don't Miss: Museum

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the Mendenhall Glacier by helicopter which was outstanding. I did not think there should have been a surcharge for those being over 250 lbs but it needs to be made clearer how much it will cost.
Don't Miss: The glacier by whatever means and the shops with native alaskan art.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
This was an excellent port to visit. Our tour (Saxman Village and Lumberjack show) were quite educational and entertaining.
Don't Miss: Spawing salmon, Saxman Village

Pros: The service and amenities were great

Cons: The stop at Prince Rupert was too late in the day to really enjoy what was available.
