The ship, Norwegian Star, was in great shape, clean and well maintained. We had a wonderful time. It was a great getaway to a gorgeous destination- Alaska.. We would definitely cruise with Norwegian and this ship again!

Take one of the excursions. we did the Pike Island trip to the ancient petroglyphs. It was a beautiful little island with an interesting history. i would have much preferred if the tour guide knew more Native history and could share information on how the plant life was used by the natives. She didn't know much about this.

We took the Glacier tour...Could have used more time as it was very crowded.

Skagway, Alaska

Favorite port...definitely take the train ride. We took a bus up and train back. It was fabulous.

We did Tongass Rain Forest walk. It was OK....Nice walk, but I would think that could be a free option.
Don't Miss: All of the towns/ports have basically the same stores. There was a heavy emphasis on jewelry purchases, which is NOT why I went to Alaska.

Pros: Ship was comfortable, clean and the service was fabulous.

Cons: Embarkation process felt more like a cattle call. It was efficient and quick, but felt like we were little more than a number in a mass of humanity.
