Review summary

Ship was fine--did not find anything that was unclean, did not work properly or any negatives. For the most part, all ship crew were friendly, exception being ladies working the restaurant reservation desk on the day we boarded the ship (acted as if they were annoyed by questions) and same was true from a one or two who worked at the information desk during the cruise. Did not find this to be true with any of the male crew members.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We are not very particular with the quality of food having to be superb at all times, so for us, the food was good throughout the cruise. There were a few people who apparently were more refined with their dining requirements and were not happy, but, for the average person, it was good to excellent (especially the Le Bistro)

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Aside from previously mentioned lack of place to dance earlier in the evening (i.e 8PM to 11PM), especailly for those who are early risers and early to bed --everything was great

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
There are plenty of children on the cruise for the Thanksgiving week we chose (11/22/08 to 11/29/08). so, if you don't like all that noise, select a different week to cruise. Approximately 900 out of 2200 were children.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Cruise director & his staff, Versailles and Aqua restaurants staff were excellent--most all ship staff are very accomodating

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony stateroom on the 9th and it was very fine (adequate size and amenities)--rarely hear people in other cabins--cabin attendants were very helpful and cordial

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
Mismaloya beach---if there were more time, there are other beaches further south worth seeing--maybe 2 more hours in this port would suffice or even an overnight.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Too short a period of time (11 to 5) need more time in this port to see the town and other places (i.e San Jose Del Cabo; Todos Santos)--lived in Cabo in 1989 and 1990 and been back many times
Don't Miss: If the ship were in port late enough, to see the sunset from the Finnesterra Hotel or the old lighthouse on the pacific side

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
Less time in this port--old city not much charm

Pros: Cruise Director Paul maintained a high level of activity on the cruise and handled everything with plenty of enthusiasm that most everyone seemed to enjoy-very witty/funny guy. The shows --Broadway(i.e.--Andrew Lloyd Weber production), dance, comedy were all either spectacular or great .

Cons: Would have enjoyed having a place to dance earlier in the evening, say, 8 to 11PM --for those of us who don't want to wait until 11PM or later--romantic part of cruise with dancing was missing. Late night dancing to old style disco was ok but not for all who may want to sleep before midnight.
