Review summary

The Norwegian Star itself was incredibly beautiful and very clean. NCL's surcharge policies were outrageous.

Food and Dining

With the exception of the Market Cafe & Poolside Grill (food was always cold) the food aboard the Star was excellent.

1st class entertainment, but always with a sales pitch of some sort -- CD's, DVD's, etc.

Everything about the ship itself was flawless, but NCL should be much more "up front" with the extra surcharges, especially laundry service. My wife 7 I packed light (to save on luggage weight) thinking we could have our clothes laundered at a reasonable price. Such was not the case, as the charge for a single item ran as high as $5. The charge for soft drinks was also deplorable, and the $62 "all you can drink" card, while helpful, was still much too expensive. We also didn't care for the constant emphasis on purchasing jewelry at all of the ports of call.
