Review summary

I only gave this 1 star because I had to! Never again will I sail with NCL.

The staff could care less...you are completely ignored. The cabin is so small and uncomfortable my husband thought about sleeping outside on the deck. Forget about a hot meal.....the service in the restaurants was so slow it took almost 2 hrs every night to eat dinner. The food was cold and if you questioned anyone about what was taking so long or asked to reheat it they actually looked offended. Oh, don't expect ice in your drinks....or ask for a refill. You might get it 30 minutes later if you are the lucky one. If you want to participate in any of the activities expect to pay out of your pocket dearly! $49 for Bingo and the price went up from there. Nothing was included and if you wanted to see one of the shows go to the late one because the poor dinner service wouldn't allow you to make the early one. The pool was closed 4 of the 7 days, with no back up plan. No activities to keep passengers busy!

This was the most expensive cruise (and worst experience) I have ever taken! I would not recommend this cruise line at all!

very rude and never tried to make you feel important or even make the effort to speak to you. They appeared bothered if you approached them. Don't forget, there is an added 18% gratuity......

TINY!!! Bed was like sleeping on the concrete ground. Pool deck chairs would have been more comfortable.

@debala715, we were on this cruise too, and it was way rough for us as well. However, I think the staff did as good of job as they could considering it was their first US cruise, as they had come over from Europe. We had a few issues, and were not able to use our balcony as much due to the rough seas.

I was on this cruise with my husband and we experienced a totally different cruise than you did. We thought the ship was beautiful and well maintained for how old she is. We found almost all of the crew to be so friendly and helpful. And with 15 foot waves, it's no surprise they had to close off the pools. And as to the beds being uncomfortable, I will give you that, as they were extremely hard. Too bad you didn't enjoy this beautiful ship as much as we did.

thank you for your wise advice, rrseeger! We are heading to the Mediterranean next summer on Spirit, a large family trip, and the reviews were beginning to make me wonder, too. But I appreciate your stance to relax and enjoy!

Wanderlust...I feel bad for you. Maybe this ship wasn't for you. I would recommend you try the Watercrest Stash. It's a cruise line who specifically caters to the mobile park community. Think of it as the Walmart of the sea without the shopping carts. You'll thank me later.

I spent 22 nights on the spirit . The staff were amazing .the assistant cruise director always greeted us with a cuddle and a kiss As for the meals I didn't have one complaint . All meals were hot when was served . I have booked another 22 night cruise on the spirit . I recommend NCL to any one Even if I do have to fly from Australia to embark .,

We are also sailing this Saturday. We've been on 1 NCL cruise and 2 Carnival cruises, BEST vacations EVER! It's what you make it, and we are there to relax and enjoy time unplugged with our family. We already know it's gonna be GREAT time!

The pool was closed due to rough seas, the pool had to be drained it was splashing so much. you could still sunbathe on the lounge chairs though :)

I can't think of a bad time I've had on the ships, or was there anything to complain about, but I'm not much of a complainer! except 1 I guess, 13 of us went on the SS Norway for our 40th birthdays, I booked for all of us and when we got on the ship I couldn't believe how old it was, actually it was 40 also that year, I apologized to the girls, and they said, let's just make the best of it, and we had a blast! I know you will, it's what you make of it!

Will do ;) I've sailed Carnival 3 times and loved it. this is my first with NCL. I expect to have fun and RELAX. I think that's the most important thing. don't expect Broadway or Vegas shows just enjoy the entertainment. every cruise liner does a 1-2 hour dinner service. I need a vacation not a headache. people expect way too much. probably people who never cruised before. entitlement in society needs to cease! happy cruising!!!

don't let reviews like this deter you. people complain way too much. enjoy your vacation. I go out on the 12th and have read reviews all the time. everyone has an opinion. you just have to ignore the b.s. have fun!

oh hell noooo not the pool what was the reason for it being closed? or did they not give u one? omg I sail this Saturday and I'm so disappointed in all the reviews I'm reading. sounds terrible
