Norwegian Spirit cruise review

Sail Date: January 15, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We enjoyed the cruise but there were enough things wrong (poor service, noise etc) to only rate it a 3/5. The people we met on board and in port made a big difference to the success of our cruise.

Ship Quality
We had to deal with rough seas and the ship and crew did a wonderful job.
Food and Dining
We had some very good meals at the speciality restaurants but the main restaurants and Raffles were hit and miss.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had excellent care from Edmundo but on our last day we were woken up at 5 am by the maintenance staff working on the ship.
Service and Staff
We had some very good service (room staff) but mostly average.
The shows were of very high quality and the kareoke and trivia were fun.
Children's Programs Not applicable
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
2 out of 3 excursions were very good, mostly because of the quality of the tour guides
Barcelona, Spain
See La Sagrada Familia
Casablanca, Morocco
Not much to see apart from the mosque
Funchal, Madeira
Take the sleigh ride down the mountain
Arrecife, Lanzarote, Canary Islands
Take the camel ride
Malaga, Spain
Visiting the city should be enough. The caves of Nerja are not worth the time and effort.

Watch out for the hidden costs (soda pop, water).
