Review summary

Overall, this was a really good cruise. We especially liked the quality and variety of nighttime entertainment and activities - they had lots of fun shows and parties. We also liked staying in Bermuda for 3 full days, although we wished the ship had provided us with more information about the port - it was hard to figure out how to get around the island and where to go at first. The food quality was great, but we were very not happy to find out that certain "specialty" restaurants charged a cover to eat there. We weren't told this beforehand, and thought all food was included in the cruise price. Most of the time we ate at the main dining rooms and non-specialty areas, and the food was great there, and we hardly ever had to wait for a table. Warning to first-time cruisers: there are a lot of undisclosed costs. Alcoholic drinks are very expensive, and they charge for things like soda and bottled water. Overall though, this cruise was a really good vacation choice.

Quality of the food was great and it was nice how the menus changed every night. Service was also great, and we often didn't have to wait long for a table in the main dining areas. We were very disappointed with the cover charges at specialty restaurants because for travelers on a budget this cut out about 6 or 7 dining options and wasn't told to us beforehand.

Entertainment

Daytime activities for younger travelers were sparse, but the nighttime activities were great. All of the shows were really fun, and we liked the themed parties and game shows.

All of the staff was friendly and helpful and were always asking you if you were ok or needed anything.

Cabin / Stateroom

Room was very comfortable and clean. It was a bit on the small side - but fine for 2 people. I wish it could've been one bed instead of 2 twins pushed together though. It was easy for the beds to separate and for you to "fall in the crack".

Ports of call

King's Wharf, Bermuda

At first it was hard to figure out how to get around the island because it's so big. You either have to by a bus pass or rent scooters (be careful because you have to drive them on the opposite side of the road). The best beaches are about a 40 minute bus ride away, but were beautiful! Horseshoe Bay Beach and Elbow Beach were the ones recommended to us, and they were both awesome. Snorkel Beach near the port is also a good one if you want to snorkel. You can also visit the city of Hamilton, but beware that the shops are upscale expensive. There a few cute restaurants there if you want to eat out. We did one shore excursion - helmet diving, and it was amazing! Be sure to look into this if you go!
