Review summary

This was not the experience I was looking for. I would not recommend Norweigan to anyone and plan to never cruise with them again

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The "included" food was mediocre at best. We enjoyed Cagney's steakhouse, but were disappointed with the exra charges. We reluctantly paid an extra $25/pp only to find out once we were seated that some of the menu options required an additional $10/pp on top of the $25. Also, if you order an extra in the main dining areas (i.e. 2 appetizers) be prepared to get a sigh and an eye roll from your waiter.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
We didn't know this was a geriatric ship. Unless you like BINGO and dance lessons, not recommended. Thank God for the Celtics playoffs and the sportsbar...we would have been bored out of our minds while on the ship. Also, you can barely hear the announcements (unless it's to announce the latest jewlery sale then it's nice and loud).

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Compared to other cruises, this staff was very cold and unfriendly. When you did get n occasional "good morning" it was very abrupt and insincere. Although gratuity is added to everything you order (17% for drinks, etc), there is an area for additional tip if you want. Staff would open the bill infront of you to look to see if you'd left a tip and blatently roll their eyes if you had not. Deck staff was disorganized. You were harrassed if you sat poolside...every 3 minutes someone is asking if you want a drink. My recommendation, if you don't want another $10 drink, hold an empty cup to avoid badgering. I will say that there was one exceptional bartender, Romi, at the sportsbar that was wonderful though...really went above and beyond!

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
We had not balcony light, only a capped hanging wire. Out TV needed repair twice during the week. The toilets flushed when they wanted to. Although I promote the use of antibacterials throughout the ship, the unfriendly staff who stood with the spray bottle at the beginning of the food line refusing to give you a plate unitil you sanitized was a bit much, especially when you had to do the same to get into the buffet room to begin with.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
As stated above, we paid for a balcony and had no light...only a dangling wire where one should have been. We roomed next to our friends...the balconies do not open up to the next room if desired, as the barriers are fixed (unlike other cruiseships). The room itself was clean.

Ports of call

King's Wharf, Bermuda

3 out of 5
Not much to do than explore. Defintaly eat on the ship...very expensive ($18 for a burger). Do not recommend Snorkel park...very dirty. View from the ship is beautiful. Very easy to take the ferry to Hamilton or St. George. St George was great...very pretty.
Don't Miss: Rum Cake factory, George and Dragon bar in St. George, Horseshoe Bay Beach a must see!!
