We have sailed on NCL 2 previous times and looked forward to this 3rd trip with NCL. The ship was nice and for the most part clean. The shows were great. For the most part the food quality was very good as well, but only in the dining room. We did not really frequent the clubs or bars. We lounged at the kids pool since we had our 5 kids. They enjoyed it but was nerve racking since there was no supervision from any NCL crew members. Kids were left unattended and every rule posted was broken ie: sliding onto other kids, pushing, running, diving(pool only 4 ft deep) etc. finally someone must have said something because a Crew Member came down and eventually kicked kids out.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
As mentioned the food in the dining room was pretty good. We had eaten at the buffet the first few nights. There were 2 dining rooms and a few specialty restaurants(cost extra). The menus for the dining rooms were posted daily. We did not think they had a kids menu since there was no mention, so we asked and found out there was. We ate in the dining rooms the rest of the cruise for both breakfast and dinner. The buffet had the same choices for breakfast every day and the food was cold each time. For dinner it was the same as well at the buffet, a pasta staion and stir fry station and 1 kind of meat. Not kid appealing. The food was better in the dining rooms however the staff seemed put out by the fact we had 5 kids. Note, that the dining room was less than 1/3 filled each time we were there because many chose the option to dine in the specialty rest. On the morning we arrive back in NY we went to breakfast at 9am. The restaurant was posted as being open til 10 am. We we
Entertainment
5 out of 5
If there is any bright side to this cruise it is that the shows were very good and entertaining.
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
I had 2 of 5 kids in the program. They enjoyed these. One was in the 6=9 yr group. I had another son who is 5 and wanted to go with his brother but they would not budge. It seemed strange to me.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Again, I was surprised by the poor quality of service. No one ever went above and beyond. At dinner one night the hostess told my son he took too many crayons from a bucket and to put some back. Based on other cruises there seemed like there was no effort by the crew to make you feel welcomed.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
As I said before the ship was clean. One annoying aspect was that you could not get to certain parts of the ship without going to one of the ends then up or down then back to where you were going.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
We had 2 rooms and both rooms were cared for by different staff. Therefore it could be a better assesment of the service. The rooms were cleaned daily, however the cups we used the 1st day in both rooms were never replaced, both showers did not drain and the used towels that were to be placed under the sink once used for pick up were under the sink the 1st day and there until the last. They never picked them up. We saw the staff in the hallways but they introduced themselves or really communicated to us except to tell us to sign for the bottle water we drank.
We were only scheduled here for a short time. We did the snorkel and stingray tour. This was good as well. There is plenty of shopping here if this is what you like.
Had a great time here. I suggest the fun and sunn day to Cocoa Beach. This tour goes to the Holiday Inn on the Beach. You have use of all the ammenties here including a pool, restaurants and access to the beach. Great time.
