We had a great time, drank our faces off .  Everyone on the boat was really friendly and bent over backwards to help!  Mary Anne deserves a raise and a promotion to senior bartender, she often went above and beyond to bring us anything we needed and always with a smile.

We just returned from our very first family vacation and cruise on the Norwegian Sky. The weather was perfect and the ship was beyond what we had expected! It was FUN, easy to get around, TONS of activities to do on the ship, there was never a dull moment or nothing to do! 

The food was a plenty, and no matter when you were hungry, there was food! We did not have the Ultimate Dining or Unlimited Beverage packages, and it was fine without either of those! I'm not a drinker so it wasn't a big deal for me. Perhaps next cruise I will try to get the ultimate dining to experience something new. The main Dining Room was perfectly upscale enough for our family to enjoy a "fancier" dinner, beyond the buffet. The assortment in the buffets were always plenty as well. It was a great way to eat quickly and get on with all the other things to do. 

 Our children are 12 yo twin girls, and our 8 yo little man. This age was perfect as in a day they were familiar with the ship and felt confident to meet us at certain points. The girls and I  enjoyed walking the top decks at night to watch the moon and the distant lights. The warm air was addicting and the breeze was welcoming! The little guy got his time in the pool, and swam like a fish, got involved with poolside activities like a water balloon toss, and made friends. All in all, the Sky was a very friendly and safe ship.  The entertainment: Bingo, Deal or no Deal, each night in the Stardust theater we were there, comedy show, dance competitions, sexy leg contests. it was non stop entertainment!  The shows each night in Stardust were fantastic! The Production Crew were beyond talented, and the shows were amazing!  

Most all the other cruisers on board were happy, friendly and chatty. Often we struck up conversation with anyone on the elevator, or walking around on our excursions.... we are chatty anyhow, and liked how many were friendly too! Expect a lot of foreigners who don't speak a bit of English! 

The staff on the Sky we beyond happy, helpful, kind, and ready to serve you. The only staff I was not personally a fan of, were the guys down on Deck 5 in Customer Service. They don't make eye contact and rushed me along. (Seriously the ONLY complaint in the staff) Our room steward, William was so nice, and often stopped what he was doing to talk and have a conversation, ask about our day, and was just super sweet and kind!  Last but not least, all I have to say is that NCL-Sky has a true gem of a Cruise Director, Tyler Gray. He is one of the most amazing, fun, super talented, full of energy, engaging, wholesome person I've ever been lucky enough to meet. He is an asset to this ship, and for his presence only I'd make my way back on the Sky! 

 Also, we did not book any excursions, and thought we'd just wing it and see what we could do on our own or for free. In Freeport, there really isn't much to do, but you have to explore a little. We walked around for 10-15 minutes before a nice gentleman offered us a day out on Crystal Beach. We went and had the time of our life on a private beach and we were the only ones there for a few hours. So worth it! In Nassau, we walked to Cabbage beach off the water ferry. It was a little hike, but we got there. A lot of the local hustle you for drinks, boat rides, and braids. It was gorgeous there as well, and the surf was crazy fun. The last day on Great Stirrup Cay, was absolute paradise! Such an amazingly beautiful spot. We just enjoyed the sun and beach on this last day of vacation! 

It was a BLAST,  and the Sky was the perfect starter cruise for us! Thanks, NCL!

My family had an amazing time on our trip to the Bahamas. The views were breath taking and the crew on the boat was top notch. Our steward did an excellent job in making sure our needs were met. I would highly recommend. 

This was a very relaxing cruise.  We purchased the drink package which made the cruise extremely reasonably priced.  The cabin was clean, the staff was more than accommodating.  The food was average, not bad but certainly not fabulous.  For the price, we feel we more than got what we paid for.  The private island was our favorite port, it was beautiful, there was ample seating area, and the bars were not at all crowded.  I would go again!

Not the best NCL cruise. Ship is in serious need for a refit. Did not enjoy the rap music being played in the theater and bar areas. Thought I got on Carnival ship by mistake, had to check to be sure I was in the right place. Run in with a drunk guest before we ever left the pier. Read that NCL was trying to go upscale yet lot of rowdy college students and drunk guests on this cruise. The dress code is too relaxed, got tired of seeing hairy chests on men wearing skimpy tank tops in the main dining room and butt cheeks sticking out of too short cut off jeans on the women. No pastries served at breakfast now. Half n half cassettes now served in all dining venues, no refrigeration thus filled with chemicals and preservatives. Expect this at McDonald's or a local greasy spoon but not on a cruise line. 

Honestly this is a small ship that goes to the Bahamas.  The only reason I booked was because of the insane cheap deal.  To my amazement I ended up loving this cruise.  It was more than I expected on every level.  The service, staff and entertainment were great.  The dining was very good.  The drink package was amazing.  The onboard club was great.  There was a great mix of ages, not too many old, or young.  The private island was the highlight, such a great island for beach time.  Honestly I would recommend this to cruise to anyone, for the price it can't be beat, and its a definite good time.  Only complaint was the casino and bingo, but honestly I don't think its different on other ships or lines, the house always wins.  

Wonderful Cruise.  The free style dining was excellent, allowing for dining at any time with the option of having the same friendly staff through verbal requests. Eljin and Mary, our favorite servers, were wonderful, friendly, conscientious, and extremely attentive.  We requested them each night in the Crossings dining room.

The entertainment was extremely professional and talented.  The bars also featured talented artist as well.  The only complaint or disappointment was the staterooms.  They were in need of some updating. All other public areas on the Norwegian Sky were refurbished and well maintained. Overall, an excellent cruise!

The cruise ship was clean, well maintained, cabins were clean and staff was very kind.

Bars lacked enough staff to serve guests in a timely manner, waiting up to 15 minutes just to get a beer or soda refill.

drink prices appeared to be on the rise as compared to other cruises and cruise lines.

Deserts were very disappointing as compared to carnival and princess. other meals were average and met expectations.

Disembarkation back home was a nightmare as always!

This was our 4th Norwegian and will probably be our last, other cruise lines offer more for about the same price or just a little more.

The cruising is relaxing thanks to very attentive service from all people on board. It was wonderful weekend on the sea. We will take future cruises, because in our case is not about the destination, but about the wonderful time on board.

Enjoyed our first time cruising. Food was average as consider ourselves foodies and eat out quite often at very good restaurants in different cities due to work travel.  Understand have to cook for over 2000 people so it was nice to eat at the specialty restaurant, Cagney's. 

Service and activities were very good. The staff crew were very friendly

Disappointed we didn't make it to Great Stirrup Cay Island due to weather conditions on Sunday Nov 29th but completely understand. Can't control mother nature.  The activities dept added more to do which was great.

We enjoyed the activities we participated in and the cruise director, Tyler was great.

Overall,  enjoyed the cruise and accomplished our goal to see if we liked cruising, which we did. Will do it again but in a few years as next vacation is in Peru or Japan.

Had a great cruise. Sky still in good shape for her age. Last time I was on her was 2009. It was a little windy so we couldn't tender at GSC. Bummer. But we had free rum punch. I LOVE that island. Nassau was Nassau. Went to Senior Frogs for lunch. Drinks excellent food ok. Cagney's was awesome. The MDR food was hit or miss but overall very good. I went solo so I had even a better time. No one to answer to. Didn't get a chance to see any shows. Had some good luck in the casino. The cruise staff was awesome. Kept everyone in a fun mood.

Paid to spend two days in the Bahamas and only spent one.  Spent the other day at sea doing dumb cruise ship games because the waters were too rough to get us ashore on the small boats.

I get that part of it, and I'm glad they're concerned for our safety, but there should be a better back up plan.  Go back to Nassau, go to Freeport.  Go to a place where there's a dock and we're not getting unloaded in small boats.  But to keep us captive at sea for the entire day was not cool.

The food was mediocre.  If you're a foodie, this is not the cruise for you.  If you're cool with cafeteria food, you'll love it.  If you like Denny's, cheap all-you-can-eat buffets or Little Caesar's, you'll love it.

The rooms were pretty good.  We had a balcony on ours which was pretty amazing to sit outside and sail on the ocean and watch the moon, or sunset.  That was awesome!

Tyler, the cruise director was great.

The comedian was awesome.

We love Norwegian cruise line and have cruised with them many times in the past.

Was NOT impressed with the Sky what so ever. This ship was not originally built for NCL and it is apparent. It does have many of the same great features as most of the other NCL ships.  The SKY has/is transitioning to a free drinks (YEP ALCOHOL too) and while that sounds great NCL needs to take some steps and responsibility to serve people appropriately. We saw numerous EXTREMLY drunk folks on the ship on several occasions. On the first day at sea two guest got in a big fight in the casino and it moved into the main atrium. With tons of people watching a black guest was wrestled very roughly by security. It was not pleasant to watch! While the other guest a white older gentleman was cussing and threating people and was taken away by security he was not handcuffed nor did security do anything to stop him from threatening numerous guests. ''

We saw several female guests on numerous occasions throwing up around the ship and proclaiming how very drunk they were.  For a company that proclaims GUEST SAFETY FIRST NCL clearly needs to do more to secure their ship and serve alcohol more responsibly.

We didn't get to go to the Great Stirrup Cay (PRIVATE ISLAND) due to some rough seas. As disappointed as we were we did respect their desire to try to keep guests safe. Again why we sail NCL again and again - Safety first!

Its so nice to be and feel FREE @ Sea with NCL. They do have some changes to make for sure on this ship but we still love them and will set sale on Escape this month.

First, let me praise the crew for the excellent service before I start ranting about the poor attention given to the kids traveling with their parents on this cruise.

The crew was super organized, fast to respond and very friendly. The director is extremely energetic and knows how to keep people entertained, he is one of the funniest directors I have seen, this was my fourth cruise.

The food was excellent except in the complementary formal dinning restaurant. 

As for the kids, the club was a little better than babysitting. There was only one pool between a bar and a dance floor to entertain the adults, not the proper atmosphere for children. There were few options for the kids who were too overwhelmed by the busy pool. My kids longed for this vacation to end. 

My husband and I had a great time on NCL.  We met so many fun people and the Cruise Director, Tyler, is a rip!!!  Don't know where he gets his energy.  Can't wait for our next NCL Cruise!! 

The only complaint I had is that the public bathrooms were not kept up.

Bad weather so can't visit the 3rd port.

This was our first cruise on Norwegian. I realize that the Norwegian Sky is an older ship, so I did not have high expectations.  The overall process of embarkation and disembarkation was relatively easy so that was appreciated as I was traveling with my husband and three children (11, 9, 4).  The ship was a little worn but fine.  Our room was small and the bathroom was small but I did appreciate that they had a cabin that fit five with a window that was not a suite so did not cost a crazy amount for all of us to go. 

The shore excursions were fun - Atlantis and Great Stirrup Cay.  We did not book Atlantis through the ship but instead used the Bahamas Day Pass.  Was easy to find a cab and get over to Atlantis before the larger groups so we got to spend as much time on the slides as we wanted.  Great Stirrup Cay was a nice beach with a protected cove so my kids learned to snorkel (even the 4 year old) and I was not worried.  We did have to take tinder boats so that was a little rough but at least was not cancelled.

The people on the boat were all friendly so no complaints.  We did not go to any of the shows as we were worn out.  But we did use the Splashzone for my 4 year old and she loved it.  Pretty basic but fun for her age.  My other two children had no interest in going as their ages just did not match well with the kids that did attend and the activities were not exciting enough.

The food was just alright.  Had hoped for a little better in the main dining rooms of which we used every evening.  It was just OK and not what you expect on a cruise ship (I've been on Carnival and really thought their food was better in the main dining (even the desert)).  The breakfast buffet was good.  The other buffets were fine.  We did not go to the specialty restaurants because of the high cost.  

So overall, for our first cruise with our kids, it was a good experience for the price!  But of course, when we were docked in Nassau, a Disney ship was right next to us so that was, of course, what my kids want to do next.  Though the cost would have been significantly more so I'm satisfied with this experience.

We had the opportunity to cruise in a suite and it was awesome. Found the deal on Cruises Only balcony and suite offers. The concierge service on the Norwegian Sky was great. One becomes pretty spoiled with all the perks when traveling in a suite. Will definitely continue to keep an eye out for these great deals.

The trip was wonderful but the Concierge service was terrible--same sheets throughout the whole trip and they had the nerve to charge us $260 for the service!

He got paid for doing nothing but changing towels--That made me Mad!

The last stop we couldn't get off the Ship cause the weather was ba--I kinda felt gipped!  Other than that the trip was nice!

This cruise is perfect for people who have never cruised before or just want a quick getaway.  The cost of the cruise and airfare was very reasonable.  We had a balcony room- smaller than a typical NCL balcony room and the balcony door is an actual door and not a sliding one like most NCL ships have.  Some of the public areas (Dazzles) had a funky dirty feet smell, but otherwise the ship was very clean.  Service was very good- our room steward was wonderful as well as the Cruise Director and his staff.  Overall the food was very good.  The buffet has a strange set-up- you need to go out of the buffet to get to the pizza and pasta stations.  There is a great outside garden cafe on the back of the boat where you can sit and eat and be away from mega crowds in the buffet. This is a cruise for people who like to stay up late and have fun!  I would do this cruise again as a quick vacation for low cost.
