Could have been better. I have been on multiple cruises but this cruise was the first were I felt like NCL corporate was trying to take every penny I had. I expected better out of NCL.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
I was required to have a PCR test for all individuals in my party. I scheduled them all, had them completed and stressed over getting the results back in a timely manner, only to be told at the port in Miami that my two youngest children would need to be tested AGAIN, this time with an Antigen test, which is less accurate. This delayed my embarkation and all others in my party and increased the amount of stress one would have with a party of 7 cruising out of the country.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was fantastic. The kitchen staff and dining staff were very friendly and even made special food requests.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The ship had a nice pool and several hot tubs, but it would have been nice to have had a water park on board for the children.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
There were very little children related activities.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were fantastic.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was in great shape, with the exception of a few issues with a stopped up toilet
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The room was a nice size, but the toilet stopped up several times and at one point wouldn’t flush for an entire night.
Ship tip
Do not go on excursions sponsored by anyone other than NCL. All other excursions are tourist traps and are very dangerous and dirty.
We were scammed into a beach day at a private beach that had sand fleas and lily water. The ground in the water was rock and coral reef which caused several in our party to turn their ankles in the water. I came out of the water with a burning rash under my arms.
Loved it, but all the floats and snorkeling equipment along with other excursions should all be included in the price of the cruise. It becomes a bit much to continue paying for more things.
Señor frogs was really the only restaurant available to eat at. The food was terrible, the fans in the restaurant were broken and there was no air conditioning. Too many pan handlers once disembarking from the ship. It makes you very uncomfortable walking in the area with multiple people begging for money or asking you to buy cheap half broken items. No police presence at the port.
I was surprised and disappointed that my card on file was charged multiple times for service fees. For the price of this cruise, all service fees should have been included. I had to spend an extra 45 minutes having the service fees removed from my card.
As others have said. You should have reserched the info on testing that it states on the website . Also you should have known about the charges that are applied to everyone for servises.
The Sky is a snaller class ship and does not have all the water park and extra activities that the other class ships have. If you did any research at all you would have known this. Don't put the ship down because you didnt know things.
Sorry the cruise didn’t meet your expectations. Your review was for a sailing on the day you posted your review. Was that an error? Crew behind the scenes work very hard just as the ones you come in contact with. The daily gratuities go towards both crew members you see and those behind the scenes.
Wow. You didn’t bother to read the website to find out about the additional testing, then you had gratuities removed for your entire party??? You completely stiffed the people who took care of your family during vacation. I hope you were at least pleasant to the staff.
Ok so those testing requirements are clearly stated on their website if you had looked into it. Gratuities should all have been on your booking information, and would show as not paid on your reservation details on the app/website. A quick google of the ship amenities would have shown you it had nothing like water slides. And I never use the cruise lines excursions I always do a search into what else is available and have had some fantastic experiences. Bottom line, you really need to do your research before cruising
