Great crew, and service, and entertainment. Surprisingly refurbished and updated NCL Sky. Good food, good mix of crowd. Very enjoyable long weekend
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Well organized, fast, safe, and simple
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room were excellent. Dinner... just fair. Cold entrees, not really a very spectacular menu. Buffets were also just fair. Cagney's Steakhouse was excellent. As good as any high-end, land-based Steakhouse. Worth the upcharge
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pool deck, fitness center are well maintained with plenty of space and chair availability
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The Comedian was funny but spent too much time jousting with the audience. Her whole "schtick" was calling out audience members and embarrassing them. That's not really comedy. "We Will Rock You" was fantastic. Well produced, fast pace journey through rock'n roll history. Great show. Lots of live music on board (more music in 3 days than a recent 7 night Celebrity cruise). Every performer was great. DJ's really geared the dancing vibe to the Latin and Hip-Hop crowd. They could do a better job of mixing it up more
Children's Programs
Did not bring any children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
EVERY single staff member, server, bartender, entertainer was beyond helpful. I understand that we were one of the first sailings on NCL Sky back from Covid. You can really tell how happy this crew is to be back with passengers
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Truth be known... this was not our first sailing on NCL Sky. In 2017 we were on this ship and I remember it being quite "tired" at the time. I am often leery when a line says that a ship has been recently "refurbished" or "rejuvenated". What does that mean? What was done? To what degree? Not the case here. This ship was clean, bright, updated, and feels brand new in every public space. New furniture in every venue, new carpet, wall décor, signage. Very well done
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Everything I said about the ship is true EXCEPT the cabins. Cabins are still a bit dated. C'mon... mount the TV on the wall, and replace the shower curtain with a glass door. Also, there is almost no storage space for clothing. Add some more drawers. Cabin was clean, and bed was comfortable. A little tighter than other ships though
Ship tip
Have a breakfast or two in the Main Dining Room. Menu, service and quality is so much more pleasurable than the Buffet
Terrible. Its a shame that our last memory from the trip is the worst. We chose to do the "Easy Walk Off" and be among the first to Disembark (scheduled for 7:45). At 8:30 we were still in line with no idea when we would be able to get off. Finally we did only to realize without ever being told that we were docked at Terminal "D". More than one mile from where we parked and embarked at Terminal "B". No announcement, no signs, no nothing, and what was worse.... NOBODY to direct you. Imagine carrying bags, dragging luggage over a mile down the construction laden Port of Miami just to get to your car? Finally, before starting our journey, we asked the only NCL person I could see on the street, and she directed us to an area where shuttle busses were being arranged. We were packed on with no consideration for seat capacity, or Covid safety, standing in the aisle, and dumped off on the street near the parking garage praying that our luggage wasn't still sitting on the sidewalk at Terminal D. Horrible communication from NCL. Really put a damper on a fantastic weekend
Thanks for your review, been looking for a recent one. Glad you enjoyed the updated, if only partially, Sky. Our last debarkation with NCL was a total disaster so I’ll prepare for the worst and hope for the best🤞. 34 days and counting😁
