For my first cruise, and the price I paid, I think I got every dollar’s worth of my money and then some. I don’t think there’s a better value out there. There are better options, but if you’re not sure how you’ll like cruising, this is the place to start

Food and Dining

So. There’s a couple answers to this. The specialty restaurants I went to, Cagneys and Pinnacle Sushi, were out of this world. If you go in Norwegian and don’t go to Cagney’s, you’re doing yourself an enormous disservice. I am a steak snob. I’ve been to many many steak houses. And I may have had a better steak before, but I can’t remember when. Best part of the entire cruise. Highly recommend getting the upgraded dining package with at least one specialty meal. You more than get your money’s worth out of it. Pinnacle was also excellent. Sushi was as good as any sushi at home, though the menu is very limited.
The buffet was what you’d expect at a buffet. Food was mediocre, but available most of the day. So convenience trumps quality here.
The main dining rooms should be your go to over the buffet if possible. They represent the middle ground between the buffet and the specialty restaurants. Still free, like the buffet, but quality on par with what you’d expect at any family restaurant, outback or the like.
Overall a Very good dining experience. Just wish I had gone to the included main dining rooms over the buffet more often
The bar package should be mandatory. I cannot fathom what I would have spent on drinks without it. We definitely beat the house with how much we drank to what it cost for the package

Pools were cold, not heated, and remained empty most of the cruise. Hot tubs are great, but there’s only 5, and they’re slightly bigger than the size you’d find in someone’s back yard. So they were usually full.
They really need heated pools.
Entertainment

The comedian was funny. The band was terrible. And I could have done without the rest. To be fair, the guy that plays the piano at the bar on 7 is pretty good
Children's Programs
Didn’t have kids with me
Service and Staff

The crew trip over themselves to help you. Especially our room steward. He was phenomenal
Ship Quality

Good layout. For a ship that was just refurbished, however, a lot of the decor looks very very dated. Very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

For the price, it met our needs well. Bigger would always be better. But that comes with a price tag. I have absolutely no complaints of the value I got for my money. And the rooms are bigger than they look in the pictures
Ship tip
Make sure you bring a non-surge protector power strip. Only one outlet in the room
Went to the Grand Lucayan hotel and took advantage of their day pass. Beach, hot tubs, pools, bathrooms, a great bar for only like $20 each for the day. Really great choice. If I had it to do over I would have gotten their all inclusive day pass for 70 with unlimited free bar and food.
