Review summary

Everything about it was great, but a huge disappointment to not go to the island again. Went in April last year, and didn’t make it. February this year and didn’t make it. PS, they didn’t go yesterday either.....

Love the freestyle dining and food options. Ate more meals in dining rooms this time and really enjoyed getting away from the crowded buffet. Everything was timed perfectly and service was outstanding.

We took part in pool games, trivia, and game shows. Had a great time!

Poolside band was ok. Seemed like people were enjoying the taped music more.

Surprisingly comfortable for two of us to stay in an inside cabin.

Ship tip

Don’t plan this trip with expectations of going to Great Stirrup Cay. It’s bordering on false advertising to say they go to the private island. You can track the GPS and see how rarely they make it to the island. One employee told me that you would pretty much be guaranteed to go if you plan your cruise during June, July, or August....not an ideal time for us to go on a cruise. But everything else about this cruise was wonderful!

Sky...they went to the island the weekend before and after we were on the Monday-Friday cruise. They did not go last Thursday and they are not there now. So maybe we should try a weekend cruise! But I don’t understand why they advertise that the Monday-Friday cruise goes to the island when it rarely does.

They say the reason is high seas, so it’s a safety issue, but I’m just trying to manage people’s expectations with my review. We liked the experience enough to try it again, but unlike our first try, we will never assume we’re going to the island. I really think they should tell people how often they get to the island and which months tend to be better than others to get there. Plus I’m not really sure what high seas are. Definitely not a weather issue. It was 82 and sunny the whole time!
