Review summary

I hope someone who can make changes reads this, and makes things better for the guess. If you allow free drinks, trained staff to care for and help the guess. Train all staff on every part of the ship and programs, make them pass a test about the ship.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The embarkation was the worst part of the trip! The female employee, Darlene B. was so mean and uncaring I thought she was from the cruise and I asked to cancel and lose my money, until the cruise convinced me she was border police and not with the cruise. She can ruin the most happiest of events with her evil customer services. We were allowed on the ship but not our rooms, and only after everyone was trying to eat and figure things out did they say, "oh by the way you can leave your bags outside your door." This was how most of the information was communicated, after you had tried to find a way, and struggled, only than would the staff offer support. I felt the staff, most the Philippines staff disliked the Americans, or the passengers in general. They smiled and was nice, at face value, but were not helpful with problem solving.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Awful, the food was so bad I ate the same things all four days. I tried to eat other things and I couldn't believe this was being served to people who had no choice. It wasn't like we could leave ship. I was so sad that this cruise would present this way. I continued to remind myself that it was not an expensive cruise and my sons first cruise, but he is only 16 and was not impressed. As for drink, I got drunk, I got drunk everyday I was there, because the one things that was good and endless was alcohol. While I'm responsible for my behaviors, put someone on a ship, out the country, bad food, rude staff, and endless alcohol, a smart person stays drunk. I'm smart. A soda cost 6 dollars and a rum a coke was free, wow, really?

Onboard Activities

I couldn't believe some of the tricks they were doing as entertainment on the guess. Like they sold these BINGO cards for a dollars, promised you "could" win up to $4000. I watch the game, but didn't play, I was hiding from the other drunk people, who said I was with them and I couldn't remember them. I watch without a card. Remember I said I'm smart, maybe not smart enough to not get drunk, but smart enough to not play games with my money when drunk! Anyway, all these people purchased these cards for a chance to win $4000, and once the game started they put in a new rule, the BINGO cards were 15 numbers long, the line for the B, was 1-15, I, 16-31, and so on. Someone had to win within 44 or 46 played numbers. DO YOU KNOW HOW IMPOSSIBLE THAT IS?, and how this changes your odds????? So no one won the 4000, no one won anything. The guy joked, "oh you all won a free drink." I didn't play, but felt so bad for the people I complained! I was like "Yall don't have to do the people that!!!" Also, they had pretty men legs contest, and so much line dancing, I called all the staff "Wobble wobble" and they all laughed and related. I picked this cruise because we didn't have Thanksgiving plans, it's just my 16 year old son and I. Of course he wanted to stay home and be on his phone and computer for 10 days, but I couldn't allow that. He needed an experience. I spent money I shouldn't have and went. This cruise promised a Teen Zone with so many activities for teens, that my teen will be entertained and never forget this cruise. Finally something that over ride the cell phone. Maybe they will dance, swim, have contest, I was so excited for him to have this experience! After the ship sailed the teen zone was hard to fine, then it was closed, then we had to register, and now let the games begin. Guess what the games were? Video games, after 4 pm all of them, sitting on a long sofa playing video games. I asked the lady about this and she said "will they don't want to do anything else." Remember I was drinking, but I'm smart to I knew if I said, "Of course that's all they want to do!!" I would have added "Dummy!!" and been kicked off the ship drunk! I left and had another drink! My teen went to the cabin and watch TV and slept. I paid for him to eat bad food, play video game and sleep, on the high seas. Guess who feel like the dummy?

Entertainment

2 out of 5
See above, they did have a newlywed game that I liked. I found this fun to watch. But the staff didn't make this fun, the guess made this interesting and fun. The guess were so much fun during this event, I was drunk and tried to tip them and got yelled at. Usually I will offer a drink, but that didn't work here, and offering money takes on a different appeal. Oh there was a comedian who was funny, he was good, but used the N word and we all were to drunk to kick his azz. So that ended that.

Children's Programs

The teen zone and program is a scam, I could do better with a table and some Uno cards.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Really I wanted to give one star, but since I was drunk I'm not certain how much of it was me. But the staff was misinformed, untrained and not interested in finding out. I was given wrong information, more than 3 times. Most staff didn't know where the teen room was. I was told by staff there was no outside showers to wash sand off, and their is. I was told wrong information on food, entertainment and resources. I think what made me most upset is they used me being drunk as the reason they were rude. Two things I know for sure, I black out and sleep before I get too drunk, and I'm a happy party drunk. The few time I have been drunk, I admit it and go to bed, but on this occasion I could sleep outside under the Sun, this alone couldn make the trip worth it for me. But the same staff would always come and tell me to move, cause they had a duty. One of the rules of hospitality is don't serve endless drinks and than punish people for getting drunk, that is rude, and these people were rude. One staff said you need to move, but you can get more alcohol, again I was tippsey and things came to mind to say to them, but I knew it was rude so I just left. Additionally, as a guess I shouldn't pick up tension between groups of staff, racial divisions. I felt it clearly, the Phillipinnos were upset with the Blacks, and took it out on the Black guess. It was awful, and they were smilely smiley but rude. I was hurt because I have many Phillipinnos in my family and I'm Blacks so I was hurt and disappointed.

Ship Quality

I got nothing, I was drunk.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
I didn't choose a cabin, I did it where they choosed the cabin for me. I was happy that my son and I got the 10th floor since the main deck was the 11th floor, so we could walk up and down. I asked for two twins and got one bed, my son separted the beds and we slept on no sheet and one of us didn't have a blanket. I asked the stewards to help us and he came around 7 pm to change the bed, I was now in from being drunk all day. NOTHING!!!! was going to make me get up! I asked him to come back the next day. The next days when I reminded him we were leaving and he can't fix the room now, what did he say, "I came last night but you wouldn't let me in!" I explained that this is true and I'm sorry, but he could go in today. He repeated, "I tried to do it yesterday, last night!" I said I know this is true and thank you, and then I wanted a drink. Then I did a beach trip, of what the people call the "free beach" (hint hint). I don't know why it's called the free beach cause when your there the waters the most ruff and they are trying to sell you everything from a chair on the beach, a floaty, a ride, a drink, water, towlet, and so on. I refused to pay so I came back with so much sand, I was 60 pounds heavier. I asked staff, if there a outsode shower? No, you have to do it in your room? Oh no there must be a outside showers? No you have to do it in your room! Ok, so I showered in this small can't turn around cabin, and yes sand was everywhere from in the beds, to in my mouth. There was so much sand in my hair I couldn't drink for days without drinking sand. I asked them to clean up the sand. They didn't. Next day when leaving the ship, I asked them to clean up the sand, they didn't. Came back on ship, I asked them to clean up the sand. They didn't. Finally I called guess services at 11 in the night and asked them to clean it up now please!!! they came, he cleaned it and asked how long had it been that much sand in my room? I told him two days, he said for me to next time call guess services. I went and got a drink.

Ship tip

Don't drink too much, read the papers you get everynight, of all the activities of the next day. Don't over estimate cheap. If you curise for the food experience, this is not your cruise. The promises unfulfilled can ruin your cruise, don't let it. The private federal contracting company that checks you onto the boat are not saff and if you come across a Darlene, RUN! Just because drinks are free doesn't mean you have to stay drunk, if you do staff will not take you seriously, nor be helpful.

I like Miami, I plan to go back. I really wish I had planned to spend more time there. The people were so nice to me. I love the weather. I have to get back there fast.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

It was awful. They have shopping of the same ole same ole, nothing new, junk! No deals, forget deals. Then you can a bus to a beach, which we did. Only 14 dollars per person. BUT when at the beach we had to pay 3 dollars to get on the beach, 15 dollars for a beach chair, and people selling every part of your expereince. I had a nice time, I met some new people, we had beers, and laughed at how we had been kiddnapped. But this fun was not due to the cruise again this was the guess who made this fun, not the cruise

Another scam, another same ole same ole shopping. nothing for an experience. The driver we paid left my friends. He promised a fea markets and gave the same ole same ole shopping. He promised us the beach and dropped us and we had to pay for anything and everything. I didn't even shop this whole trip.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

This was Thanksgiving Day, great set up. They feed us (I didn't eat), free drink........you guessed it, I got drunk and fell asleep, but I got a swim in before I went to sleep. The chairs were free, the food was free (people said they even offered soe food from the islands, but no Thanksgiving foods) and the drinks were free. Nice beach too. Shopping was still the same ole same ole.

This went well, the ending bill seemed correct, we only had carry on, and I didn't shop. So we walked off. I used my Uber app and went back to the Airport and a days travel back home.
