Review summary

We booked this cruise back in October 2016 to celebrate our friends 40th birthdays. Wish we would have been told that this was a College Spring Break Cruise. While the ship was very nice, the crew was accommodating and the food was excellent, our use of the amenities on board was limited due to all of the college kids. We weren't able to get into the pool or make much use of the hot tubs because they were invaded with drunk college kids. The bartenders were at least nice enough to create a separate line for Non college guests, so we didn't have to wait 20 minutes to get a drink. It would have been nice to have been forewarned prior to booking this cruise that this was a popular ship for college kids during booking, as we would have most likely postponed our trip for after spring break. We came on this cruise to get away from our kids not hang out with more kids, so  I gave the cruise a  3 rating because of that. I think had we not been on a cruise ship that was 85% filled with college students we would have really enjoyed the vacation and would have likely rated it a 4.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Breakfast was by far our favorite meal on board, but all the food at the buffet was delicious.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
weren't really able to participate in many because the college students took over.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I think the entertainment would have been enjoyable if we were able to actually participate but the college students took over everything.

Children's Programs

Didn't use the children's programs so no rating

Service and Staff

5 out of 5

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was nice and quiet for the most part. Enjoyed coming back to our room every evening to find a new animal folded out of the towels.

Ship tip

If you are 30 and over I recommend not traveling during Spring Break. (first week in March until Second week in April)

Your best bet to cruise without a lot of kids is to go in between thanksgiving and Christmas or September. When kids are on breaks is when it's busiest. Try a different ship as well because now that the sky has the drinks included it does draw more of that crowd.

Thanks twangster. I booked in July. Hail to the unruly kids. I had no clue, thanks for the heads up.

Who would assume 9 billion college kids would go on a cruise. No, I don't agree with that. A cruise should be friendly to all that come and go on the ship and thankfully they seemed to be that way. I have no clue when spring break is. I'm not a college kid.

Many posts of this nature this time of year. A lot of hotels in warmer climates are the same. March means drunk college kids. June, July and some of August means boat loads of misbehaved un-parented children. Same year after year.

Every March is spring break, it has been for years. You should have also knew what was going on.
