Overall fun cruise but excursions could use improvements......

Norwegian Sky has plenty of activities to do on the ship. The staff was very polite, helpful and kept things entertaining. The ship was very clean and had a stellar appearance. However, some of the excursions need some improvements. On the trip to Atlantis the transportation wasn’t organized leaving the guest confused on which shuttle to get on, and eventually crammed into a shuttle. While at Atlantis the tour guide rush the group through the tour as if she was running late for something. The guide didn’t allow enough time for questions or pictures and seemed to be way ahead of the other tour groups that started before us. For the ATV excursion, the ATV rides themselves was awesome but, once we were done the group was taken to a  botanical garden and had to wait for a hour when it only took 10 -15 minutes to walk around the entire garden. If you elected to return to the ship there wasn’t an option to do so because there was only one shuttle and driver rotating from group to group. The excursion package included a beach party at the end of the day. When we arrived at the beach there where beach chairs directly placed in the sun and we was charge three dollars for a beach umbrella. All guests sat in the sun for an hour and a half with no party and no music. The restaurant was closed and host who sat behind a bench and mini bar showed a full menu but for a hefty price would only offer hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and selected mixed drinks. The whole time we were there vendors tried to up sale their merchandise and when we said, “No thanks!” vendors would send little children up to us with the same merchandise from earlier. In our opinion the ATV package should have the option to return to the ship via shuttle instead of two- three hours of waiting in a garden and scorning on a beach. If it wasn’t for the ATV rides and the pleasant shuttle driver the excursion would have been disappointing.
