I am so sorry to hear that you had such problems with your dad.  I hope that he is doing better now.  Let us know.

It is not a matter of having a heart or not, it is a matter of legal obligations.

Due to the litigious society, if the line were to go out of their way to help you, then they would have to help everyone that missed the boat for whatever reason. If they were to refuse to help that drunk that just had to have one more drink in Cozumel, then he would undoubtedly sue, and be able to show that the cruise line has a history of helping people, and were being discriminatory in not helping him.

Give up on asking the line to help you -- go to the consulate. That is what they are for.

Thats fine i disagree being that we came with them paid and was left here its not there fault but enough money is paid to help out even the money that day saved with us not getting back on the ship hoilday seen as well does not hurt to have a heart get a father and grandfather home to the family and kids

I will have to agree with the above posters -- the cruise line can accept no responsibility.

While I truly do feel bad for you, if the cruise line were to accept any responsibility whatsoever, even giving you nothing more than a plane ticket, then they would be held responsible every time someone misses the ship for any reason whatsoever.

Additionally, the cruise line always recommends a passport when traveling foreign, even if you don't legally need one. The reason is that you cannot easily hop on a plane back to the States without one.

Try to contact the US Consulate to see if they can offer any help.

I truly hope your father is doing better, however, the cruise lines don't account or handle these types of issues. Hopefully you can find a way to get home soon.

Yes but one way or another we are paying customers and to not care the way everything happen is heartless ty day 6 i think...he is doing better have him moving around im trying to stay on top of everything as to the man from the hit and run and idk what has been done i have him on film and his plates as well its a slower process im learning here :( i just wanna get home to our family i feel that could have reached out some way

A most unfortunate experience but nothing under the cruise lines control. Did you try to contact the U.S. Embassy? If you had purchased cruise insurance prior to the cruise, most of your travel and monetary worries would have been handled by the insurance company. Again, it is unfortunate that the accident happened but it in no way has anything to do with the cruise line as the accident happened on land. When in port, you travel at your own risk. Even though a passport is NOT required for a closed loop cruise, I always recommend to my clients they have one just in the event situations such as yours arise. Good Luck......
