Review summary

Needed a short cruise and this one met our timing needs perfectly.  First, our private island stop was canceled due to renovations, and then we were diverted to Mexico due to Hurricane Matthew, but we made the best of it.  Food, excursions, service, and entertainment were all acceptable but nothing to write home about.  Ship was in excellent condition for her age, and Captain did a fabulous job of keeping us out of rough seas, which we appreciated more than we can express.  This is a great cruise if you have time and budget constraints and aren't terribly picky.  It met our goal of spending a few relaxing, worry-free days with friends.

Deck 9 Aft is a great location...two floors below the buffet and pool, and two floors above the dining room and theater...all of which are at the back end of the boat. And we weren't all the way aft, so engine noise when porting was not an issue. Room and storage was more than adequate for two people on a 4-day cruise. (Would have been tight for more than two people, though.) Note: some of the balconies open to each other (great for families or friends staying next to each other) but ours did not. We were disappointed we didn't know this (or check on it beforehand), as our balcony opened only to the strangers on one side of us (thus, we kept it closed) and not to our friends (and traveling companions) on the other side of us. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, and our steward was very nice and kept our ice bucket full at all times. What else do you need really? :-)

Ship tip

We only had one main show each evening...at 9:30. I don't know if the boat wasn't full (it didn't seem to be) so they canceled the earlier shows or it there is always only one show, but that might be too late for some cruisers.
