Review summary

I cannot in good faith recommend this cruise because even though there were certain things

that were enjoyable, I believe they were outweighed by the negative experiences.  The good:

Food was very good at the buffet (did not go to the dining rooms).  Our cabin balcony was

very enjoyable.  Room steward was very pleasant.  Negatives:  My luggage was searched for

contraband because of an unopened bottle of aloe juice and arrived much later with a big red banner with the word "ALCOHOL" on it.  This was very embarrassing to me as it was left outside my

cabin door for possibly hours before I realized it was there. The entertainment was not up to the

standard I had expected.  Too many of the on-board activities required more money.  I personally felt, during the cruise, that NCL was more focused on how they could make the most money than

my personal enjoyment.  I would not go back on this cruise and therefore cannot recommend it.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was superior to other cruises I have been on.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
i felt there could have been more activities. Also, quite a few of them required more money.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Entertainment except for the talent competition, seemed not up to par.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
My cabin steward was very friendly. Rest of staff was o.k.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship appeared clean. Although when the cover came off the filler for my duvet cover I saw some old stains there.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
While not the biggest cabin afloat, this cabin was located close to everything only 2 levels down from the 11th floor, where we ate all our meals. The balcony was big enough. We did not have a view of the NCL private island when we docked. It was on the other side. I do not know if this is always the case.

Ship tip

The balcony stateroom is well worth the cost. It added an additional level of enjoyment to the cruise. It increased the level of relaxation. Port side does not necessarily mean you will be facing land when the ship docks.
