Review summary

The staterooms are VERY small, so don't plan to spend anytime in them. Which I didn't, but it would be nice to have a decent place to change clothes. They don't clean the bathroom (toilet and shower) during your cruise, so bring something to refresh it.

Sorry you got poor service. I am betting it varies by who is taking care of your room - whether they love their job, or are there because "it's a paycheck".

My room steward on floor 5 of the Sky was stellar when I was aboard her. The Jewel's steward seemed also extremely friendly... we actually ran into her cleaning our room on three different occasions when making trips back to the stateroom for forgotten items or returning to rest.

Now granted, at this point I haven't seen other lines to compare, however I was pleasantly surprised.

It's good to hear that you all received good service, however I didn't. I can give specific examples but this is not the proper form for that. My recommendation is still bring something to refresh your cabin. I was merely sharing my experience onboard the Norwegian Sky I cant speak on the service for the Jewel. It was simply the case of someone not doing their job well. My cabin was entered twice a day to retrieve dirty towels, but that was all that was done.

Hi roz2005! I agree with FrankVaughn – it sounds like you just got a bad room steward – our toilets were always cleaned twice a day; shower was cleaned just as often (if we’d used it since the last cleaning). Norwegian Sky is an older, smaller ship but we’ve found cruising aboard her to be a good value and we love the Hawaiian décor left over from her time as Pride of Aloha.

While I'm not a very big fan of Norwegian, on the Jewel, we witnessed our cabin steward on his hands and knees scrubbing the bathroom floor and shower. This may be a case of "your mileage may vary"
