Fire the DJ!

Sail Date: May 04, 2009

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

The ship was clean and in good condition for an older ship, however the layout is poor. The room was extremely small, even for an inside cabin. The rear deck area and bar was nice with ample shade however the bar closed early. This forced you into the center pool area where the only outdoor bar that was open late was located. The DJ at the pool area played music not suited for the crowd ( with the exception of the white hot party night ) at ear splitting volume even though on most nights there were only 20-30 people in the bar/pool area. This made it impossible to hear one another even when yelling while seated at the same table. It was enough to drive you away. The only other bar areas open late were the smoky casino or the ( appropriately ) loud disco. Food was extremely average, and dont order the ribeye, it belonged on a roll with onions peppers and cheese. It was about as thin as a good Philly steak sandwich steak.

Ship Quality
Poor layout, hard to get from one end to the other without cutting through buffet etc.
Food and Dining
Average at best. Fish dishes were good beef, not so much. Not a lot of variety on the menu.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very small, hard bed. Would not want to share this small space with someone I wasn't intimate with.
Service and Staff
Staff was very good all around the ship. Except for the DJ.
Children's Programs n/a
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
We arranged our own through the internet, the parasailing on the private island was cancelled due to windy conditions.
Miami, Florida
Take the harbor cruise to see the city sights.
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Paradise cove for snorkeling, book it yourself. Way cheaper then ship excursions and way less people. The staff there was great.
Nassau, Bahamas
We booked an excursion to Sandy Toes (Rose Island) on our own. Great day!
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
Small beach area, not much to do if your not into laying on the beach.

Bring earplugs if you want to enjoy the deck in the evening.
