"Great family fun!"

Sail Date: July 21, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Inside

This is a great ship for the family. It was much more casual than formal. Most of the meals allowed for shorts to be worn. Our 11 yr old loved the child camp, and looked forward to when it started each day. Our 16 year old made several friends quickly and was able to safely roam the ship. The meals were good, and the upcharge for the nicer eateries is worth the price. The only congestion was at the buffet, the rest of the time, we were always able to find as much excitment or as much quiet as we wanted.

Pros: The cruise had no set schedules

Cons: Did not have the personalized service similar to our other cruise

Recommends Norwegian Sky? Yes!

Food and Dining
The included eateries food was okay. Similar to food at a convention. The upcharge eateries are worth the cover charge and are very tasty.
Ship Quality
Although I have not been on a new mega-cruiser, this ship seemed very nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had an inside cabin. It was small and looked dated compared to the brochure sample photos. However, we spent so little time in the cabin, we did not really care.
Service and Staff
Staff was okay. Not as strong as the staff on our other cruise. Some of our requests for cabin supplies were "forgotten" and we just grabbed the supplies from the cart ourselves.
Seemed relatively good.
Children's Programs
Our girls cried when they had to say goodbye to the kids crew staff. They had great programs and were great with the children.
Nassau, Bahamas

Don't Miss: The casino and pool ($fee) at atlantis resort is fantastic
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
I was really not expecting this to be very exciting. However I was surprised with how well the staff handled the food service and amenities for us. It was most relaxing as there was no "tourist" feeling, just a quiet time to relax.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling was great
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
