Review summary

A good cruise with family. The ship was clean and the staterooms spacious. We would sail this ship and itinerary again. But we would not go out of our way to get this ship again because we wished it had entertainment more like other NCL ships.

Embarkation

It was a touch delayed. We were supposed to check in between 0930 and 1000, we got let into the terminal around 1000. Check in was super easy after that.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food and drinks were all great. Our favorite bar was Belvedere. On the last night we got some drinks at Metropolitan which were fantastic. The buffet food was good, but it was just too small and crowded to be an option most days. I recommend trying indulge!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There is a lot of stuff to do on the ship. The infinity pools were really nice and heated. We did the VR games for an hour, probably wasn't worth the price. We did both the escape rooms. The first one was very fun. The second one probably had a lot of kids playing in there and a lot of things were broken or missing. The slides and go karts were fun, but not enough to keep you entertained during a full sea day.

Entertainment

This was the big downfall of the ship. Most nights didn't even have a show in the main theater. The final night we waited for an hour and a half to get into a 45 minute comedy show. It would be hard for any comedy show to be worth that kind of wait.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always amazing. They work so hard. We had a wonderful room steward and some amazing waiters. I never had a bad experience with anyone. We had a wonderful bar waiter in Belvedere as well.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean, we constantly saw staff working to make this ship spotless. I agree that a lot of the spaces are just too small. There were not big enough spaces to hold more than 50 or so people at a time. I also thought a lot of the spaces were just too loud, so I would avoid them if there was any room. I think this ship is a wonderful warm weather ship because it never felt crowded outside. We always found room in the pools, chairs, and loungers on deck 8

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Inside cabin. There was so much storage space. We didn't have any problems fitting everything. There are already 4 hooks for anything you need. The bathroom felt much bigger than previous staterooms as well. We really enjoyed the room.

Ship tip

Dont forget to book things ahead of time as you can. If you need a quiet place during the day, Onda is a great space to play some table games with your friends and family.

Ports of call

Harvest Caye, Belize

5 out of 5
A wonderful place if you want a beach day. The beaches are nice, the water is warm, there are even some anchored floaties in the water. We went para sailing, which was beautiful. And then went on a peddleboard and manatee watch, that was very fun. It is a very active excursion and some people in our group had trouble staying up when we entered open water.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

We did the Choccoben Mayan Ruins. I would not recommend it. 5 of us did this tour and were split into 3 different tour groups. When we returned and talked about our tours, every group had gotten different information about the ruins or what the buildings were used for. It was really disappointing that we didn't know who got good information or not. Still a beautiful site, but didn't feel worth the price. The port has a lot of bars, shopping, and pools, but that isn't really our thing.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This is a beautiful island. We book outside of the cruise shop and had a very good time. We did a 3 stop snorkel with lunch. We got to hold starfish and we saw a lot of sea life. The lunch was very good and we got some time to enjoy their little beach area before driving back.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We loved our excursion. We did a discover scuba booked outside of the ship. None of us had been diving before. We got some explanation before entering the water and a little practice before we went started descending. It was an amazing experience and we are now looking into how to get certified. It was just beautiful and was a very reasonable price.

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
Heard of some good restaurants and bars. When returning, we went to Rainforest Cafe and ended up having a really good meal, much better than expected. Since we flew out of Houston, we went and enjoyed the NASA Space Center, we highly recommend it.

Disembarkation

We divert our flights a day so we can take the latest time off the ship to avoid stress. We had a leisurely breakfast and then played some games before our color was called and we left. Very calm and a nice way to end the trip.
