The Prima is a beautiful ship with lots of activities, some of which you pay for. Many pubs and bars on the ship for your enjoyment. Be prepared for lots of people. Try to make as many reservations as early as you can for anything. Use the app.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
You had to pick at time of arrival to the Cruise Port. Do that as early as you can when you check - in on line. Many many people to check in when you arrive. It took 45 minutes to weave through the lines and get the cruise card.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The specialty restaurants that we experienced, Le Bristro, Cangneys, Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta were good. The best being Le Bristro. Hudsons, the main dining room had good food as well. The menu in Hudsons and the Commodore are identical and do not rotate menu options at all. The buffet was good too, but can get very crowded as it is not a big space. We would have tried to get a better dinner time at the specialty restaurants but with in 2 hrs of boarding the ship all the early dining options were taken. We tried to do the dinner time on line for the specialty restaurants but most were not available.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The main pool did not have enough deck chairs and any surrounding areas to it. If you wanted to get sun you had to get to the pool deck by 8 am and at that many were taken. There is a Vibe beach club that was sold out even before we left the port. The other 2 pools were infinity pools on deck 8 that were small spaces and no deck chairs to be had either. The fitness center is very good, with lots of work out equipment. The Spa was nice and the services offered were good. The thermal suite was great but very expensive for the week.

Entertainment

If you wanted to see any entertainment you had to make a reservation. Well with a full ship that was hard to do. There was very few entertainment options that did not require a reservation. When you tried to book a reservation on the app they were full.

Children's Programs

No Children

Service and Staff

My deck steward was the best. All the personnel were nice that we encountered.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The cleanliness was good and the ship had beautiful interior. The layout of the ship and design I did not like. Too many small venues. The buffet was on just one side of the ship and was congested. The go-kart track took up alot of space that could have been used for deck chairs. All activities like that and the virtual reality room all have a cost attached and I did not find that appealing.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was clean and nice. We had a huge deck as we were in a corner room at the front of the ship.

Ship tip

Do all your reservations for specialty restaurants and the Vibe beach club as soon as you can. Reservations for the main show room should be done before you get on the ship. Use the Norwegian app as much as you can to make reservations for anything. Be prepared for a full ship and lots of activity. The observation deck is wonderful if you can get a seat.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
No excursions at Port Canaveral. The port is big and can get hectic during the boarding of the ship.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Cozumel was great! We went to the Iberostar all inclusive for a day at the beach. Very relaxing and we had a wonderful buffet.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is beautiful! We went to see the turtles and enjoyed the time.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Jamaica is beautiful! We went to a beach club that was an hour away. The club was nice, the ocean water was very warm and we enjoyed the service.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

A storm prevented us from going there.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Easy to get off the ship. All times to disembark were color coded stickers on our bags and we had to wait our turn. If you wanted to take off your own bags you could leave anytime. Customs was a breeze with the face scan.
