Review summary

Honestly, the worst cruise I've ever been on. Bad weather prevented us from leaving Boston, therefore we missed the two best ports of call. The Pearl is subpar and needs an overhaul. To top it off, on the way home, I got sick and now have COVID. What a horrible week!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty seamless...better than expected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
While the food tasted okay, literally nothing was served hot! I finally resorted to having an omelet every morning, just to eat something that was hot! Specialty restaurants were not up to par and were pretty disappointing in just about every way!

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The only thing that was enjoyable to me was the rare moment I got to sit outside by the pool.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
While the Legends performers really did an amazing job, this was the only entertainment venue I thought worth spending my time at.

Children's Programs

Didn't have children with me.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff and service provided was excellent. There was more than enough personnel to meet the needs of the passengers.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
I gave this rating simply because when I sat in the main dining buffet, I noticed the backs of fronts of the chairs were dirty and torn. Really shabby looking.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I would have given 5 stars, but there was a huge crack in the shower floor. Otherwise, the cabin was clean and quite comfortable.

Ship tip

It needs an overhaul....search for a different ship

Ports of call

Halifax, Nova Scotia

1 out of 5
The only thing I wanted to see here was Peggy's Cove and everything was sold out. Tried to walk around the town, but it was old, the buildings were crumbling and pretty much vacant. Finally just returned to the pier area where we had a nice lunch. No shopping available.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

1 out of 5
The wind and rain were so heavy that day! We tried walking in but turned around and spent, yet another boring day, on board the ship. Asked another passenger who actually made it into town and she said there wasn't much to see there anyway.

La Baie, Quebec

2 out of 5
Pretty town. Finally some sun and was walked into the little part of the town around the port area. Had a nice lunch but again there was no shopping available!

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
We had preferred disembarkation. When our color was called, we went down to find a very long line of people ahead of us. I kept asking if they were the same color and was told they were. Turns out, they weren't. I think more ship personnel need to be on hand to keep this in a more orderly fashion. It was very frustrating.

Not NCL’s fault the weather sucked. That’s a risk on any trip.

Sorry you were disappointed. We’ve been on 10 cruises and loved them all. Cruising is the best vacation ever! Oh, and if you go cruising it’s almost a sure bet that you will get COVID.

The comments made about Halifax are totally bogus as this review is.
